The only female GOP presidential candidate, Carly Fiorina, former Hewlett Packard CEO, is ranking in the top ten among the GOP presidential candidates in two national polls.
Fiorina has often been critical of the female Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton and has said she wants the opportunity to debate Clinton.
Public Policy Polling released a new national poll last week, which has Fiorina tied for sixth place with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)96% and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)93% .
The PPP listed the GOP candidates in the following ranking:
Donald Trump with 19%
Scott Walker with 17%
Jeb Bush with 12%
Dr. Ben Carson and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)80% with 10%
Mike Huckabee with 8%
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Carly Fiorina, and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) with 4%
Chris Christie and John Kasich with 3%
Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, and Rick Santorum with 1% J im Gilmore, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC)47% , and George Pataki with less than 1%
Fiorina is tied for seventh place in a national Economist/YouGov poll conducted July 18th to July 20th:
Donald Trump with 28% Jeb Bush with 14% Scott Walker with 13% Ben Carson with 7% Rand Paul (R-KY) with 5% Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) tied with 4% Chris Christie, Carly Fiorina, and Mike Huckabee with 3% Lindsey Graham, Rick Perry, John Kasich with 2% Bobby Jindal and Rick Santorum with 1%
George Pataki with 0%
In order to make the first GOP presidential primary debate on August 6th in Cleveland, Ohio, Fiorina must place in the top 10 of all candidates based on the ranking from an average of five national polls, according to the criteria set out by the host of the debate, Fox News.

Stupidest post of the day.
Excellent!
I really hope that Fiorina at least make it to the debates. I do not think she has a chance of getting the nomination, but I love hearing her speak.
As long as Fiorina is in the race, then the Republicans have just as many women candidates as the Democrats.
The Republicans have a remarkably diverse field of candidates. The Democrats have an old white woman and an old white socialist.
all the bottom feeders like perry and Christie are starting name recognition campaigs in order to “magically” rise by August 4th.
They need to stop poaching from trump and focus on the other weak candidates like carson, Rubio, Huckabee etc.
Yay!
I don’t believe Cruz is polling that low or Boobio is polling better. Cruz if Freerepublic is an indication is doing way better, I guess religious and Tea Party don’t get polled.
Palin was energy commish in Alaska, would get oil flowing at EPA and Energy
Carly was the CEO of HP from 1999 to 2005. Adjusting for stock splits and dividends, the share price for HP stock was $24.50 in January 1999, and was $25.13 in December 2005. Considering all of the turmoil in the market after the tech bubble burst, 9-11 and the start of the Iraq war, I wouldn’t exactly call that running the company into the ground. And I say that as one who was laid off by Carly and HP in 2001...
Just out of curiosity, how many did Trump run into the ground?
On what issues? I am not a Carly booster, but in the few interviews I have heard/seen, I admit I have been impressed with her ability to present and defend conservative principles.
Huckabee is much more liberal on many issues than Carly, but you consider her too liberal while you like Huckabee. Why is that?
Great to see her move up.
The issue is who do we want out.
I want every bellow 3% out.
Perry out.
Carson (carson must have funding from some anti-second amendment group)
I do not like the poll manipulation that is going on right now.
Not by my definitions of what’s important. I am giving my opinion. I do not plan on fighting someone already invested in the opposite view. I am unbendable on this but I have heard all the hate for Huckabee and I disagree with it. No one wants the truth when they can have so much fun wallowing in insults.
As for Carly, I already said I won’t support someone who voiced support for homosexual civil unions whether they tried to have it both ways or not (by opposing the word marriage while supporting the substance of it). That includes Carly and Carson. I am surprised to learn it includes Carson but it does. Anyone who cannot see how primary family is to a strong society and a free government is not the kind of person I can support for president. The courts forcing everyone to sanction, protect, perform, support and defend homosexual marriage with all of its ramifications on society is appalling. Trying to give them the substance of marriage by another title was a phony, fraudulent position. It may be irrelevant now but it speaks to me of the truthfulness and character and wisdom of the candidates.
Carly also says diversity is of primary importance just like the liberals do. I disagree. Ability and character are the things that matter. No one is keeping track of how many blondes they employ, or how many fat people, etc. Our goal should be to be blind to irrelevant differences. The more we focus on it the more divided we become. And I am always in the category that comes up short.
Coming from a tech company I would think she would have a better website. I do think she is articulate. That is something. I don’t have lots of trust in her, but that is more of a gut feeling than anything else.

I have my favorites and those I don’t like as well. I do not agree that poaching from any other candidate is the way to go. All that happens is you make their supporters mad and lose whatever support they may be willing to give the winner in the general election. The thing to do is stand out by being a strong leader, being truthful, being trustworthy, forcefully articulating strong conservative principles and positions, etc. Trump is standing out because he is a natural leader. People want to follow someone who seems like he knows what he is doing. Someone they like, they believe, they trust. Smacking back at a cheap shot is fine. Belittling your opponents to try and shame people away from them is petty and turns people off.
You know that the GOPe and Fox for that matter want to ensure that we have a diverse panel—at least in appearance. The polls will be manipulated to achieve that end.
In the age of the Internet and every recording device that is out there available to people, the second tier candidates will be just as widely heard, at least for those who want to listen. I agree with you that the polls will be manipulated. I just don’t think it will matter that much so long as FOX NEWS truly tries to be fair to the 2nd tier.
