DONALD TRUMP ENDORSES AMNESTY FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS [DISAPPOINTING, BUT NOT SURPRISING]

Disappointing, but not surprising.
The depressing reality though that is that most of the Republican field has endorsed amnesty in one form or another. So this isn't much of a surprise. Trump is using his own vocabulary, but he's echoing the same amnesty talking points you could hear from Marco Rubio... or Barack Obama.
During Friday's interview, Trump said the U.S. should take a two-step approach to the 11 million undocumented immigrants currently living in the country.
"Well, the first thing we do is take the bad ones of which there are, unfortunately, quite a few," said Trump, who owns three New Jersey golf courses and once owned three Atlantic City casinos. "We take the bad ones and get 'em the hell out. We get 'em out."
But he said the country should take a different approach with "the other ones" i.e., undocumented immigrants who have "done a good job" since arriving in the U.S.
"I'm a very big believer in the merit system," Trump said. "I have to tell you: Some of these people have been here, they've done a good job. You know, in some cases, sadly, they've been living under the shadows. ... If somebody's been outstanding, we try and work something out.
"But before we do anything, we have to secure the border because the border is like having no border," he added.
I'm sure some people will be tempted to cheer this, but compare it to Obama's own amnesty executive order.
These executive actions crack down on illegal immigration at the border, prioritize deporting felons not families, and require certain undocumented immigrants to pass a criminal background check and pay their fair share of taxes as they register to temporarily stay in the U.S. without fear of deportation.
Cracking Down on Illegal Immigration at the Border: The Presidents actions increase the chances that anyone attempting to cross the border illegally will be caught and sent back. Continuing the surge of resources that effectively reduced the number of unaccompanied children crossing the border illegally this summer, the Presidents actions will also centralize border security command-and-control to continue to crack down on illegal immigration.
Deporting Felons, Not Families: The Presidents actions focus on the deportation of people who threaten national security and public safety. He has directed immigration enforcement to place anyone suspected of terrorism, violent criminals, gang members, and recent border crossers at the top of the deportation priority list.
Deporting the "bad people" first is already an Obama talking point. People may think they can trust Trump, but not Obama or any of the Republicans, but like them, Trump frontloaded rhetoric about enforcement while keeping the amnesty out back.
And "secure the border first" has been the talking point of every Republican amnesty proponent.
Marco Rubio still supports legal status and a slow road to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants, but now says the government must convince Americans the border is secure before taking those steps.
Trump had already indicated support for amnesty earlier, now he's being clearer about it.
This is in line with what CNNs Chris Moody reported Trump saying during a press conference in Chicago at the end of June. When asked what he would do about the illegal immigrants already residing in the country once the border was secured, Trump replied, give them a path, according to Moody.
When The Daily Caller sought clarification at the time from the Trump campaign, a senior adviser replied with a circuitous answer that emphasized that Trump wanted to secure the border and didnt believe in amnesty, but wouldnt explicitly reject a pathway to legalization.
Nobody likes the A-word, including Rubio and Ryan who spent the better part of a year arguing that legalizing illegal aliens isn't amnesty if they have to pay a fine. Even Obama made that argument.
The next step would be to get Trump to lay out criteria for who gets to stay and how many of them it would apply to, but good luck getting an answer.

Hmm, let's see.. Deport illegal alien felons - ICE has decided to stop doing that until comprehensive amnesty is passed by congress. Build a secure border - ICE has ordered officers out of certain sections, as illegals were going too far to reach the US, and it was too dangerous. But hey, judges are now ordering ICE to release illegals too.
The only real comprehensive immigration reform we really need is enforcing the existing laws on the books. Hammer the businesses who are hiring them, remove the ‘contractor exception’ - oh, we didn't know, we just hired this contractor, see, who said he'd get whomever we needed, oh, and they'll need someone who speaks Spanish to interpret for them. Then go after the money - taxes on wiring of cash or money orders to Mexico (and other countries which have a poor record of controlling their people from entering the US illegally), RICO seizures of those who are housing illegals or otherwise aiding them...
Pretty dang quick, the issue will settle itself - those who want to be US citizens will be left, while a good many who are here on an extended free jobs program will go home.

I agree with you. Trump could not make it clearer that step number one is securing the border. Simultaneously, get the invaders (not his word) who are non-productive deported. It's called prioritizing.
He's also said that US citizens have to be put to work.
The DC crowd and their paymasters keep staying vague stuff while no one goes home, the border is no more secure, and H1B Visas are distributed like candy to kids on Halloween.

Maybe you can help.
How does Trump's idea differ from Cruz idea?
Does Ted Cruz have any ideas on what he would do? I can't find any.

Trump and Cruz will secure the border and deport criminals and public assistance illegals. The rest will do nothing.
Cruz already has as part of his policy on immigration ending the anchor baby clause.

Trump said we can talk about amnesty after the border is secure. Amnesty is not the issues right. Border has to be secured first. #1 priority after 30+ years of the professional politicians aiding and abetting millions to flood in. Otherwise they'll want an amnesty every 25 years and more and more will continue to flow in.
Kinda of a no brainer.

Well, seriously, what can you do? You can’t send back all 30,000,000. I would hope though, at some point, someone would say if they’ve been here and established their life, have a job, a house, a family then let them stay. But they should have to meet the same requirements of those who come legally and within a reasonable timeframe.
but if they’re on the streets, have been arrested for ANYTHING then they go back.

That’s what I think - who the heck is going to toss 30 million people out. The problem wasn’t dealt with years ago when it started happening, so there might be a price to pay for that.
Secure the border, STOP legal immigration from south of your border, throw out EVERYONE who has had trouble with the law, then start looking at what to do with the rest. No welfare, no healthcare, no driver’s licenses, no voting for ANY of them. They might self deport.

Trump should avoid too many specifics on the amnesty question. The immigration laws already exist to handle those here illegally, they just haven’t been enforced for many years. A new president could handle this situation within existing law.

This post is HYPOCRISY at it's highest. Not a single candidate has said they will deport ALL illegals.
If you do not deport ALL illegals, is it not amnesty?
But it is fine to single out Trump because he has not said if he will not deport ALL illegals?
Actually, Trump never said he will keep any illegals. But Hypocrites will be Hypocrites.
