Always that 11 million figure, when we all know better.

No candidate has to have “policy specifics” at this point LOL!
You could ‘catch’ any of them with that.

Trump needs to get out in front of this and tell the world he was wrong about Romney is ‘12. Romney had it right about employer enforcement and self deportation. Donald needs to do this while he can.

Because all the candidates have written books stating their how to strategies.

I haven’t heard anything detailed from a politician in maybe a decade. I hope Tapper asks the others the same detailed questions and especially the RATS.

Whatever makes this scribbler think savvy US voters believe the policy promises Republican politicians make to the voters during campaigns? In 2014, all of them promised to repeal Obamacare before the election. After the election, the first thing McConnell and Boehner did was totally fund it for Obama while vilifying the few conservatives who objected. That’s the kind of liars we are used to.

there are at least 11 million undocumented workers in the U.S. right now, and rounding them up for deportation is not a viable option.

WRONG.. simple city ordinance requiring YOU be legal in the U.S. to rent, own, or inhabit any residence..
Upon payment of property seizure for failure to comply.. Jail or both.. possibly a fine as well..

QUICKLY illegals will deport themselves.. no worries..
except for those “connected”.. that problem would next on the DOCKET..

Trump said this about Clinton.
““What she has done is criminal. What she has done is criminal,” he repeated. “I don’t see how she can run. Because if the prosecutors, who are all Democrats by the way – that’s part of the problem with fairness here, they’re all Democrats so they’re protecting her. But if you had an impartial prosecutor and they were honorable – and maybe they are — we’re gonna find out but what she’s done is criminal.”

He just rose in the polls again. Thanks Jake. ( by tye way ,you are obnoxious.

Last weekend it was McCain who was going to doom him.

This weeks it’s..........what? lack of specifics? The author wasn’t very clear.

My prediction, this author will be forgotten long before President Trump is.

If Trump is destroying the GOP, then why is the Left wringing its hands? Shouldn’t they be cheering him on?

What I’ve been saying is build a fence first and start enforcing the laws. Then we can debate what to do with people already here. But when the patient is in critical condition, first stop the bleeding.

What Trump has done is to change the narrative that if you don’t support open borders and amnesty for all you are outside the mainstream.

Says who?

Shut off the job market, shut off public assistance, and shut the border and over a decade or so the problem resolves itself.

Step one is to secure the border. Step two is to enforce the law. Repeat.

Trump's position is a bit incoherent, but not that hard to understand. Secure the border so the problem doesn't get any bigger. Expel the felons. Then we'll see what can be done about the rest. But you can't do anything if you don't first secure the border.

Writing Trump’s political obituary is so LAST WEEK. The country has moved away from that and now accepts that he’s not going anywhere.

It is far better for the left to try to keep driving a wedge in between Trump and his supporters - and maybe, although it’s a long shot (as he is very smart), just maybe, if they push hard enough, Trump just may step in it - but that certainly didn’t happen here, not even close.

:: As anyone serious about the issue of illegal immigration recognizes, there are at least 11 million undocumented workers in the U.S. right now, and rounding them up for deportation is not a viable option ::

First, I believe Tapper indicated that Trump is not serious presumably about immigration.

Second. I would bet my left arm that Tapper has NEVER, EVER, not even ONCE, participated in a root cause analysis. OTOH, I likely could not count the number of RCA’s Trump has been a part of.

Rounding up eleven million = not a viable option.

....I don’t know, have they tried rounding up the eleven million?

I’m amazed that a government that can tax me based on the number of miles I drive can’t find the people in the country illegally.

I think it has more to do with not wanting to find said people and less to do with ability to find those people.

‘The rumours of Trump’s demise are, as Mark Twain observed in a similar situation, greatly exaggerated.

Trumps books was light reading, however, I think this guy is overselling the demise of Trump. Shutting the flow of illegal immigrants down is a really big deal, and more than we will get on our current GOPe trajectory.

His stance on the Louisiana shooter is dead on, indeed locking up homicidal loons is a thing we should be doing, but that is going to require rebalancing the individual right to be a raving loon who doesn’t take their medication with societies right to be able to limit the number of criminals known to be insane who are allowed to be in a position to commit crimes they will not be held responsible for.
