Borodin: String Quartet in D, Second MovementAlex Borodin was a doctor and pharmacist by day, and a composer by night. He left behind a fine collection of works in several genres. This slow movement from his second string quartet ended up in a Broadway musical, but here is the original.

MUSIC FOR WALLERIN
Schubert: French Divertimento for Piano 4-Hands, D. 823, Second MovementSchubert intended this to be his Sonata in E minor for Piano 4-Hands, but the publisher had a different idea. The second movement is a set of theme and variations that has been arranged over the years for a variety of instruments. Its fascinating how Schubert can make a major key melody even sadder than a minor key melody.
This video features Orion Weiss and Anna Polonsky, who met and played at the Seattle Chamber Music Festival, and married. They are exploring the piano 4-handed repertory, and Ive suggested a possible performing edition for the Sonata in A minor for Piano 4-Hands that Schubert left unfinished at the end of his short life. Watch how this couple works together.

I am more than ready for Lance to go back!!!I’ve been busy, cleaned the gutters [they had not been done in years], put up a clothes line/s did a few loads of laundry, hanging a new door [after I turn it into a “Dutch style” door] and a million other little chores that have to be done before fall arrives.

MUSIC FOR WALLERIN
Brahms: Symphony #1 in C minor, Op. 68, Third MovementThis was a huge hit for Brahms who waited until he was 43 to produce a symphony that could challenge Beethoven. While Brahms tends to a bit ponderous at times, this intermezzo is fleet of foot.

Good evening, Ms Feather...*hugs*...things seem better tonight. At bedtime, when she’s settled, I’ll ask if anyone was inside. I know she saw men working in the backyard...she has for months, but I never made any connection.
We talked before I left for work....”no one can get in, everything is locked, just tell them you know your eyes are playing tricks, so go away”. Tomorrow I’m taking her for a ride when I do errands. Tonight she says she wants to go...we will see in the morning.
Did you get some porch time today?
