Authorities say a San Francisco Bay Area police sergeant was shot and killed during an early-morning traffic stop.
Hayward Police Wednesday morning identified the officer as Sgt. Scott Lunger.
Lunger was shot about 3:15 a.m. after he stopped a white Chevrolet pickup that was swerving on the road. [ ]
Police later discovered a truck in Oakland with bullet holes. It matches a description of the truck involved in the incident. It was not clear if the driver has been arrested.

Damn Amish acting up again.
Damnit...
Put another cop in the 'murdered by illegal aliens' column!
No description of the perpetrator at large, partner would have gotten a look at them.
Wouldn’t want to offend anyone and prevent more mayhem....
SFPD, a bunch of gay robbers.
Pickup truck, too much like work vehicle. Likely hispanic.
These guys put their life on the line every single day for us. Unfortunately also for those that ‘hate’ cops.
Prayers for those left behind.
Another illegal “entrant” DUI, no doubt.
This article says a suspect has been arrested.
You bet, CWB, dollars to donuts the perp is an illegal.
But with all that’s been exposed already, chances are the media will bury or spin that part of the story.
San Francisco? What are the chances the shooter is an illegal? 40%
Black? 50%
White? 10%
Chinese .1%
The only 100% preventable crimes are those committed by illegal aliens
This, coupled with the potential for another racial dustoff in Texas - do not let this drop off the radar.
What potential blowback can we see from this one?
The Watchman Ping List - FReepmail Old Sarge for details!
Acting Police Chief Mark Koller says they have one person of interest in custody, but no arrest has been made. Koller went on to say that Hayward PD is not looking for any another suspects in this case and that are there are no threats to the community at this time.
*Ding! *Ding! *Ding!
WE HAVE A WINNER!!
The Post Of The Day!
Nailed It !
This angers me, but I am not the only FReeper. So lets let others weigh in.
We see it every day on the forum, mindless idiots trashing cops for not allowing an individual to take the first shot, and only then opening fire.
Well, here’s your good cop folks. Stop on by and praise him.
This is your idea of sound law enforcement should work.
On the other hand, SOME of these guys first put the lives and liberty of CITIZENS on the line (see Waco Twin Peaks, Texas), happy to shoot/taze/arrest first out of fear for their own safety, and ask questions later because they fear risking their own safety more than they are willing to defend and protect the citizens they're supposed to serve.
Yes, some of these guys put their lives on the line every single day for us, and THAT is why I say a quick prayer under my breath for blessings and safety upon EVERY cop I see on the road.
But SOME of these guys put their badges and their guns on, FORGET about laying their lives on the line -- they ONLY put badges on, and do so because they want to be in authority, bullies with badges. YES Virginia, such cops do exist, in plenty. If you want to deny it, you are only fooling yourself. Call me a "cop hater" for hating that -- but it isn't the cop I hate, it's the attitude of such cops that I hate. It is a deadly attitude and that of a tyrant criminal. It is an attitude that harms ALL -- good cops, citizens, and freedom. A bad bully cop is exponentially worse than a non-cop criminal.
Good cops are worth their weight in gold. God bless and keep all good cops, and this cop who was killed during a traffic stop may well have been a good one; God keep him, and God bless his family.
Right, DO?
There used to be a lot of righteous coppers in Hayward, one of my buddies was one of them.
