Republicans swift condemnation of Donald Trumps disparaging comments about Sen. John McCains military service marks a turning point in the partys cautious approach to the billionaire-turned-presidential candidate.
But Trump simply may not care; indeed he seemed to bask in his McCain takedown.
-snip-
Trump pressed ahead Sunday with his critical remarks on McCain, who had no comment. He said the senator has been all talk, no action on looking after military veterans. McCain stirred Trumps anger last week when he said Trumps comments about immigrants had fired up the crazies at a Phoenix rally.

I have said the same thing...don’t tell the rabid Trump people this though
Isn’t he the guy who called Ted Cruz a “Wacko Bird?” or am I Mistaken. About time someone pulled the “war Hero” mask off McCain. He needs to be challenged and pulled from the Senate. He has insulted the Tea Party once to many times. Go Trump!
Well, the difference between RATs and RINOs IS unclear.
Or maybe, if we’re doing conspiracy theory: I wonder if Trump let Cruz know it wouldn’t be pretty when Trump took down McCain for calling Cruz a “whacko-bird” and for calling Trump’s followers “crazies”. Perhaps a lesson from the mentor to show how it’s done?
“Trumps on dangerous ground here. “
Trump went into dangerous territory when he agreed to be interviewed by Frank Luntz, the master of political emotions.
I suspect that FL was instructed to bait Trump.
“Trump is in it to dilute the anti-Bush vote. Trump wants Hillary or Jeb to be president.”
He has SEVERELY WEAKENED both of them, so I have some trouble with that theory. He weakened Hillary by forcing her to say that Illegal felons should not be released into American society - makes a lot of sense for us, but ABSOLUTELY KILLS HER with her base. And he has weakened Jeb in a number of ways.
If Trump intended to proper either of them up, he would be attacking conservative and/or lining up a 3rd Party run - he is not doing either - but if does get driven out of the Republican Party, he may just do that.
McShame is just JEALOUS because he could never draw the crowds that Donald Trump is. The only time that McShame really drew large crowds in 2008, is when Sarah Palin was with him. To me that says it all. And by the way, didn’t McShame also team up with Lindsey Gramnesty of South Carolina and wanted to push amnesty for illegals through a few years back????? But that’s okay, McShame has ALWAYS SAID HE HAS NO PROBLEM CROSSING THE ISLE. Donald Trump is right, what has McShame done recently for the vets?? Nothing unless they can be used for McShame to get votes.
McCain started this himself. He thinks it’s ok for him to disparage other repubs and he should be untouched. Now he will let the media cry tears to everyone on his behalf. How I hope AZ picks another for Senator.
Go for it. Im on cell
God bless him for it. We need the “in you face” talk now more than ever. Damn near all the politicians these days are spineless quislings and do not deserve to hold the offices they do. For 30+ years now it has been the same family names setting policy. F’em, they need to go and I hope Trump damages them all permanently.
” They need to ignore Donald Trump and start explaining how the democrat party is tearing apart the country.”
They simply are NOT CAPABLE of doing that. They are controlled by GOP ‘advisers’ (most of them gay, by the way) and are instructed to NEVER CRITICIZE Hillary because “she’s a woman and that will cost you the women’s vote”. Same type of advice Republicans were given by their ‘advisers’ (most of them gay, by the way) in 2008 when faced with their first black opponent.
If not Trump, there would be NO ONE saying anything bad about the Democrats...that is why Trump is SO POPULAR on our side.
What kind of American hero tries to outlaw free speech during elections?
Great post!
"I apologize for using an old joke that liberal Democrats used against McCain when he was running for president in 2000 and 2008. I realize now that Democrats intended the line as a mean spirited attack on veterans, something that I never intended.
I promise never again to act like a Democrat."
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is continuing to criticize his fellow Republicans for their filibuster of incoming CIA Director John O. Brennan over drone policy. In an interview with the Huffington Post, McCain referred to Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) and Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) as “wackos.”
“They were elected, nobody believes that there was a corrupt election, anything else,” McCain said. “But I also think that when, you know, it’s always the wacko birds on right and left that get the media megaphone.”
Asked to clarify, McCain said he was referencing “Rand Paul, Cruz, Amash, whoever.”
Welcome fiddlestix
You should pay closer attention, we are never going to see a political struggle like this again in our lifetimes.
It’s going to be epic, don’t miss a moment.
As to your question, he’s set out to takedown both.
