Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry lashed out at fellow Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Sunday over “offensive” comments the real estate mogul made about Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
Trump questioned McCain’s status as a war hero over the weekend — but the gaffe could cost him with an important base of Republican voters: military veterans. Perry, who served in the Air Force, called Trump’s comments a “bullet that went through John McCain and hit a lot of us that were in the uniform of this country.”
Trump taunted McCain on Saturday at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa. “He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured,” he said sarcastically.
Perry pounced on Trump’s comments in a play for veterans’ votes.

The whole thing is stupid and overblown. There are real things to talk about. But no one wants to talk about them. Except Trump. The actual “politicians” in the race are desperately trying NOT to have a conversation.
Perry should just tuck in his tail and quit.

Two time presidential loser Rick Perry chimes in. Well, technically it’s only been once for him but soon enough he’ll be out of the race again, and hightailing it back to Texas to figure out his next career move. I think he won’t make it to the end of the year.
We were taught “sticks and stones” as children, but Perry hasn’t reached that level of maturity yet.
I didn’t think I could dislike Perry any more. I was wrong.
I’m a vet and I didn’t’ feel a bullet. He must have missed.
I hate when some politician jumps up and takes credit for speaking for an entire group. I know a lot of veterans who hate McCain. And none of them are pissed at Trump. In fact, everyone I’ve talked to are happy someone is finally getting people to talk about McCain’s real record.

Trump speaks the truth. The others are terrified to speak it. Hence his following. He’s being misquoted by the MSM (who would ever suspect?); he’s gathering huge crowds; and he refuses to play by the playground rules (THEY have made up).

His next career move will be to support every gopE candidate in hopes of getting a cabinet position.

Trump assessed McCain who was wildly insulting, defaming, Trump supporters, as is mccains spoiled hit below the belt style of fighting other Americans, others republicans and never the enemy
Trump waded into the POW world I suggest he get a better informed view on as if he would care what I think

What hurst me most as a veteran is the way I and my family are treated as last in line last to get scholarships, jobs, special treatment in retail establishments, and pressured to speak a foreign language here in Perry’s Texas to people who do not acknowledge my existence as an American, much less, veteran in perry’s open border state where he pretended to have no control
His handlers and he will be left in the dust like in a panhandle windstorm

Trying to force this as disparaging POWs instead of the pathetic, corrupt, nasty McCain is idiotic.
Trump loves the military as much as anyone. He just doesn’t respect those who are given great power, like McCain, who STAB Vets/POWs/MIA in the back, which McClain has done over and over and over again. He was a worthless Senator and is part of the reason why we are in the pathetic mess that we are in today. He is a Marxist/socialist sympathizer and enabler.
