Trump Supports National Health Care (2011)
Business Insider ^ | 04.18.11 | John Ellis

Posted on 07/19/2015 10:46:06 AM PDT by Behind Liberal Lines

"We must have universal healthcare," wrote Trump. "I'm a conservative on most issues but a liberal on this one. We should not hear so many stories of families ruined by healthcare expenses."

The goal of health care reform, wrote Trump, should be a system that looks a lot like Canada. "Doctors might be paid less than they are now, as is the case in Canada, but they would be able to treat more patients because of the reduction in their paperwork," he writes.

I also believe Trump would not be opposed to means testing, for entitlements, down the road. My opinion, not anything I’ve read.

He’s ALL for supporting our (truly) poor.

Thanks Behind Liberal Lines.
We should not hear so many stories of families ruined by healthcare expenses.
Yeah, that hasn't happened under Zerocare.

Trump is not only NOT a Conservative, he is the LEAST electable of all the Republican candidates.

Trump is the most vulnerable to the Left Wing media because he has so much baggage they won’t need to make stuff up about him or blow things out of proportion to discredit him. Hillary would win 60% of the vote against him.

Trump believes in Democracy... has NO IDEA...

Democracy is Mob Rule by mobsters.. unless he does..
AND wants to become one of the Mobsters...

something to “think about”.. as the sheeple chew their cuds...

No democracy was ever democratic.. NONE.. zero.. zip..
ALWAYs a Mob ruled.. like in Canada and the UK..

Democracy is the political disease that BREEDS socialism..
IS the source, the “git go”, the disease.. socialism is merely a symptom of it..

The major commies knew this...

Democracy is the road to socialism. -Karl Marx

Democracy is indispensable to socialism.
The goal of socialism is communism. -V.I. Lenin

The meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism .-Karl Marx

I think all of us are guilty of falling for the Trump rhetoric. He’s saying what we’ve wanted to hear from a public official about illegal immigration and liking what he’s saying, but not paying attention to all the leftist pronouncements and positions he’s taken over the years. He’s a liberal who happens to be saying the right things about immigration but he disagrees with us on almost everything else. Sort of the way we looked at Joe Liebermann. He agreed with us on Israel but that was about it.

It’s not like we have a choice.

Actually, yes we do. This is a primary. We choose the best candidate in a primary. A lifelong liberal who advocates for socialist healthcare is not the best choice.

What is already commonly known is more than enough to keep him under 40% in the general election. There is much more that is not commonly known.

Our truly non self addicted and non self inflicted poor.

The other big thing to change is the ability to hire ex felons. Many good people got over a bad start in life but can't move on because a felony kills their future. Currently if an employer hires a felon there could be unwarranted lawsuits against an employer for hiring an ex con. Those kinds of lawsuits and judgments need to go away from business owners.

So, what did we have before Obamacare? When an indigent went to the emergency room, they were turned away?

Has any candidate advocated repealing Obamacare and just going back to the way things were?

Sorry, not buying it. Trump may have had some ideas about replacing Obamacare that may not be as conservative as I’d like. Now he is advocating more of a free market solution. If anybody has a solution that makes everybody happy and fixes the issues of rising costs, let’s hear it.

Please tell me whey Jeb or Hillary are better options.

Clinton and Obama opened the door to many more flaws being accepted in candidates.
a successful person as President would be good for this country.
I want Cruz first and at this point Trump second.

Some people see him as the only way to stop the illegal alien inundation.
And possibly reverse some of the complete corruption of the GOP.

I intend to vote for Cruz in the primary, but if he isn’t the nominee, Trump is better than ¡Yeb!

You Trump worshippers have lost your minds or are Socialist trolls.

Nah, we go through this every cycle. Last time it was Herman Cain on his glorified book tour. He was doing even better in the polls than Trump at one point, even though he was never a serious candidate.

For some Bernie Sanders could have run as an angry conservative instead of the socialist he is, throw a bunch of red meat out to the base, and they'd ignore or forgive all his past positions.

Though he has absolutely no history of being an ideological conservative, Trump actually is saying some things that need be said at this particular moment in time - and he isn't cowering to the PC police. There is something refreshing to that. For the more rational Trumpsters, I think it isn't so much that they like "the Donald" necessarily, what they like that is that he is saying things and forcing debates on issues all of us wish actual conservatives would do. For way too long now conservatives fall in line the minute the beltway elite, media and entertainment establishment tell them they can't talk about immigration, etc. Trump is defying that and, while I personally think he is a complete con man who is really just promoting himself, it is important that conservatives realize they don't have to be stuck in this leftist box and stop being afraid of to challenge the PC police.

I agree with you. We’re so fed up with the gutless Republican Party, but Trump is a live hand grenade. My fear is we end up nominating him and he implodes all over the place and we end up with Shrillary. The GOP has only itself to blame for the rise of Donald Trump in the presidential nomination process.

Well gee, thanks for pointing this out (if it's even true).

I guess I'll just have to vote for Hillary since BI doesn't like Trump.
