Army Boss: Letting Soldiers Defend Themselves from Terrorists "Causes More Problems Than it Solves"
FrontPage Mag ^ | July 17, 2015 | Daniel Greenfield

Ladies and gentlemen, the modern military where our best weapons is tolerance, our strength is diversity and gun control is the answer to fighting terrorists.

The Tennessean reports that Abdulazeez pulled in front of a recruiting location, shared by various military branches, and shot holes through the “doors and glass… [of] the… Air Force, Navy and Marine offices.” He allegedly did this while sitting in his car.

Ironically, one of the earliest post-attack photos of the recruiting center shows shattered glass and bullet holes by the very sign that designated the office a gun free zone.

But don't get any ideas about actually arming our people.

The Army's top officer says security at military recruiting and reserve centers will be reviewed, but it's too early to say whether the facilities should have security guards or other increased protection.

Gen. Ray Odierno, chief of staff of the Army, told reporters Friday that arming troops in those offices could cause more problems than it might solve.

Odierno said there are legal issues involved in allowing troops at the centers to carry guns.

Just think of the Islamophobia it might cause if they actually shot a terrorist.

It's too early to say whether a pattern of Muslim terrorist attacks aimed at recruiting centers requires action. But the gun-free recruiting center is certainly an ad for a modern military in which soldiers aren't allowed to defend themselves against Muslim terrorism.

Meanwhile, in Israel, troops in or out or uniform walk around in public with rifles slung.

No problem.

Time for Ray Odierno to retire.

He acts like the military cannot solve a problem, and an obvious one at that.

Yeah, and we cant pump our way out of an oil shortage. And we can’t cut taxes to leave more money in the hands of Americans and on and on and on...Funny how the left never wants to do the thing which will solve the problem.

“That rant over, guy must have been a pretty good shot 4 KIA from the parking lot...”

All four were killed at the second location, none at the recruitment center.

At the second location, the NOSC, we do not have details or pictures of how it went down.

Please take away this man’s weapon and the weapons of those surrounding him. Then we can begin to talk —about his placing the safety of troops below his ambition.

It is a form of indoctrination on our soldiers. Look at the difference...after defeating Germany, Patton rearmed the Wehrmacht to keep order in Germany and prepare to fight the Russians! In both Afghanistan and Iraq, we took away the guns causing the good guys to die. Our National Guard troops took guns away from homes in New Orleans during hurricane Katrina causing innocent families to be killed and raped by the savages. We are suicidal.

“Just think of the Islamophobia it might cause if they actually shot a terrorist.”

He NAILS it. Even this Administration does not want to see killings like this, but what they REALLY FEAR is all of the ramifications involved if our soldiers were allowed to be armed for self-defense. Questions like: “Was he ‘too quick’ on the trigger”, etc. Every ‘event’ is different, and, sadly, the easiest approach is to let a few good men drop, so as to avoid having to defend someone that may have been perceived (rightly or wrongly) as a bit too quick on the trigger.

But the BIG PROBLEM with that strategy is that Muslims now know that the SAFEST PLACE to attack US soldiers is right on US territory...not overseas or anywhere else, as they are likely armed there.
