Army Boss: Letting Soldiers Defend Themselves from Terrorists "Causes More Problems Than it Solves"
FrontPage Mag ^ | July 17, 2015 | Daniel Greenfield

Ladies and gentlemen, the modern military where our best weapons is tolerance, our strength is diversity and gun control is the answer to fighting terrorists.

The Tennessean reports that Abdulazeez pulled in front of a recruiting location, shared by various military branches, and shot holes through the “doors and glass… [of] the… Air Force, Navy and Marine offices.” He allegedly did this while sitting in his car.

Ironically, one of the earliest post-attack photos of the recruiting center shows shattered glass and bullet holes by the very sign that designated the office a gun free zone.

But don't get any ideas about actually arming our people.

The Army's top officer says security at military recruiting and reserve centers will be reviewed, but it's too early to say whether the facilities should have security guards or other increased protection.

Gen. Ray Odierno, chief of staff of the Army, told reporters Friday that arming troops in those offices could cause more problems than it might solve.

Odierno said there are legal issues involved in allowing troops at the centers to carry guns.

Just think of the Islamophobia it might cause if they actually shot a terrorist.

It's too early to say whether a pattern of Muslim terrorist attacks aimed at recruiting centers requires action. But the gun-free recruiting center is certainly an ad for a modern military in which soldiers aren't allowed to defend themselves against Muslim terrorism.

Yeah, the terrorists might die. Can’t have that — they might not defeat us. Barry from Nairobi would be very upset.

Further proof that “Military Intelligence” is an oxymoron.

There are no words one can properly use to respond to this

Odierno should be dismissed from the military with a less than honorable discharge.

At the rate it’s going, the military will wind up consisting of women, homosexuals, and trannies. I wonder if anything will change when no one but these groups are taking the hits, because normal patriotic men just won’t join anymore?

It sure seems as though there is a deliberate attempt to stop enlistment. Wouldn't surprise me in this atmosphere.

There are some military folks who simply shouldn’t be carrying a weapon, of any kind at any time, just like in the civilian world. Then there’s the inventory/accountability issue...

But the troops need to be able to protect themselves...maybe create a policy that if a servicemember has a CCW or similar that they can carry their personal firearm?

I don’t know...do like the Swiss?

I know it’s infuriating for patriotic Americans to watch their military turned into the fruit loop squad, but it may turn out to be a blessing when they try to turn them on us.
