Michelle and I would like to extend our warmest wishes to Muslims in the United States and around the world celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr. As Muslims mark the end of the month, they are reminded that Ramadan is a time to reflect spiritually, build communally, and aid those in need. While Eid marks the end of Ramadan, it marks a new beginning for each individual a reason to celebrate and express gratitude on this holiday.
For millions of Muslims, the morning of Eid is marked with the call to prayer echoing through cities and towns across the globe. Millions of people head to local mosques for special Eid prayers followed by festive gatherings, gift exchanges, and feasts among friends, neighbors and families. The diversity of traditions paint the vibrant images we see from around the world capturing the spirit and excitement of Eid colorful dresses or white garments decorating the masses of people standing in lines for prayer, lanterns and ornaments lighting up bazaars and neighborhoods, intricate henna designs painted on hands of young girls and women, and an abundance of delectable foods and aromatic cuisines.
As Muslim Americans celebrate Eid across America, the holiday is a reminder to every American of the importance of respecting those of all faiths and beliefs. This past year New York City Public Schools announced adding Eid to their official school calendars alongside Christmas, Hanukkah and other holidays an acknowledgement of the great diversity and inclusiveness that adds to the richness of our nation. During this years White House Iftar, I had the opportunity to meet inspiring young Muslim Americans who are leading efforts for greater understanding and unity across diverse communities. Following the Iftar, one of the young attendees helped spearhead an effort that raised more than $75,000 for the churches burned in the wake of the shooting at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina. Americans of all faiths and beliefs must stand together to protect our democracy and strengthen our country as a whole.
Michelle and I hope today brings joy to all of your homes, both here in the U.S. and around the world. From my family to yours, Eid Mubarak!
"Its now the Rainbow House"
Saruman the White to Saruman the Many Colored didn't work out so well....
He probably had to.
Our dumbass President and his dumbass Secretary of State got caught looting in Libya by our enemies.
Sometimes, the blackmailers make the head guy dance so they know he’s still worried.
Thanks Democrats.
The mussie in chief and his beard have NO SHAME
“My God. Words fail me. I am 82 years old and have NEVER detested a president as I do this one. He is insane.”
I am 81, and four Marines were killed today by a Muslim celebrating the end of Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, just as Obama is celebrating that festive holiday. /sarcasm
Never in my life (or yours I see) have we seen an abomination of such evil in our White House. God will not be mocked much longer. A crisis is coming in the near future because this evil cannot continue.
Marines murdered by a Muslim while Obama celebrates his Muslim holiday. Evil.
FUBOYSOB!
Let all sane americans prepare to CELEBRATE to end of the Obama Regime.
AMEN!
words can not adequately convey my utter disgust
We saw the best of it,Marcella.
The much maligned fifties were not perfect, but were great years for most of us.
The sixties were the beginning of the end——and what’s going on these days seems to be close to the end.
I hope I make it to November,2016 and see a much needed turnaround.

Aw, go crap in your hat.
Me too. FUBO and FUISIS.
Hussein and his wife/beard are truly disgusting. I sincerely hope our next president will not so much as even acknowledge Eid, Ramadan, or any other Muzzie holidays. This IS America, after all.
“I hope I make it to November,2016 and see a much needed turnaround.”
Me, too. :o)

Dear Wise venerated ones...I heard this evil news as I was driving to help a client. Words just fail me. I am 67 and I cannot recall a time when our county has been this used and abused. I finished reading, just this morning, David McCullough book on John Adams. My prayer daily is please God, show us a statesman such as this. One who will stand for justice unwaveringly, and the courage to speak the truth unafraid, and the love of America, and lastly, freedom and independence. My heart hurts for those families of those Marines, who did not have the means to defend themselves. Evil is rampant in our land.
Mr. President, tell it to the Marines.
As an outsider, I don't know the U.S. state-of-things. No matter the Feast of Indiction, but does Easter itself receive such attention?
There was a 2015 Presidential Statement on Easter, but it was not to the same detail. I have copied it below:
Michelle and I join our fellow Christians around the world in observing Good Friday and celebrating Easter this weekend. With humility and awe, we give thanks for the extraordinary sacrifice that Jesus made for our salvation. We rejoice in the triumph of the Resurrection. And we renew our commitment to live as He commanded to love God with all our heart, soul and mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. I look forward to continuing our celebration on Tuesday when I host our annual Easter prayer breakfast as we remember the teachings of Jesus in our daily lives, stand with those around the world who are persecuted for their faith, and pray for peace, justice and freedom for all people.
:)
Once the (New Calendar) Apostles’ Fast was over, I ate PORK kielbasa for several days, in “observance” of Ramadan, in good Serbian fashion!!!!
I ate fish yesterday, in observance of the Feast of St.Vladimir!
St. Vladimir and especially St. Elijah wold know what to do about those who observe Ramadan, and about the groveling sycophant in the White House who fawns all over them!!!!
Some muslims celebrate Ramadan by waging violent jihad. How many Christians did ISIS behead during Ramadan 2015? Inquiring minds want to know!!
PHOOEY to diversity!!!! PHOOEY to equality!!!!
We must refuse to be ruled by “gays” and musilms!!!!
