GasBuddy started an emergencypetition on Friday calling on Governor Brown to obtain an EPA waiver to prevent gasoline price increases of at least 50-cents a gallon in Southern California and 30-cents in Northern California.
As Breitbart News warned in December in Brown Needs Oil Trains to Prevent Skyrocketing Energy Prices,: decades of anti-oil-production-policies in the Democrat-controlled state had made residents highly reliant on inconsistent supplies of oil from Iraq and oil trains from North Dakota. With supplies now breaking down, Californians are sure to be angry paying $5 a gallon for gasoline.
GasBuddy noted that an extraordinary convergence of fuel supply problems this week in California prompted severe spikes in wholesale gasoline prices and experts say theres no immediate relief in sight. CEO Jason Toews sent Governor Brown a letter asking him to consult with the EPA and Department of Energy about a California gas regulation standards waiver due to extreme and unusual fuel supply circumstances. Toews emphasized that such action has been taken in the past, and hoped the Governor would recognize the burden especially for people struggling to pay the bills.

How about $1.00 in ten days.
Why should California get a break from rising gas prices since they laid all of this crap on the rest of the country?
Yew, the waiver should apply to every state.
Californians have all kinds of money to spend on this kind of BS cockamamie scheme. They got money falling out of their butts for this kind of thing.
Boo-freaking-hoo
Greeceafornia can deal with the reality of math with their social feeling magic wand and see if it makes them feel better.
You made your bed, you lie in it.
The smart people who have been “struggling to pay the bills” have wised up and moved out. I was born and raised in SD and still love it and miss it all the time. However, I will never move back due to cost of living and taxes in CA. I have friend after friend from CA moving away and each one talking about how they were living paycheck to paycheck on a 6-figure income and now have paid off all debt and live in a home twice the size of where they were living in CA.
Actually, this is what the liberals and environmental whacko’s really want. They want Gas to be so expensive people own the little clown cars or no car at all. The liberals want the U.S. to be like Europe where gas is $5 plus a liter. Then the people will have to rely on the governments mass transportation to move around. Also, boost the need for the high speed rail to SF
They won’t need gas after the “big one”, cuz we will let Mexifornia complete its slide into third world status.
We can invade later and rebuild am American state after the progressives are found and executed.
IIRC there are like over 30 special blends for the high urban population centers in the US. That why prices fluctuate in the summer as refineries change from one blend to the next.
You would think that the blend for SoCal would be good enough for the rest of the nation but noooooooo....
If CA is such a financial, mess who is buying the homes of the escapees?
Ditto. Too effin bad.
You know it occurs to me that if social order should break down, imagine what will happen in the “sanctuary” cities with gun control and all the armed criminal illegals.
The Democrats are so worried about it that they passed a law last year allowing them to raise taxes on gas an additional 45 cents a gallon.
We have this Dem super majority creating havoc around the state.
can you male it to Nevada on half a tank?

??
Dunno about today, but years back it was Iranians. Some foreign bio-chemist types bought my house in 06. Were getting $$ from a big pharma company called Amgen.
$0.70 in 2 days here...at the rate prices were increasing, I was surprised to see that prices weren’t over $5 when I was coming in to work today...
I'm surprised they stopped at 45 cents. They could have raised it to European levels with a $4.50 hike.
