WASHINGTON Republicans who started off viewing Donald Trump as an amusing sideshow are starting to fret that the real-estate billionaire is becoming the main event.
Since he defied skeptics and launched his presidential bid last month, Trump has rocketed in the polls, dominated media coverage and helped steer the debate on issues.
I dont know that he even knows how far he takes this, former New York GOP Rep. Thomas Reynolds, who is close to GOP candidate and ex-Gov. George Pataki, told The Post. He has the wherewithal . . . He has put together a pretty wholesale ground force in New Hampshire, and that has to be taken seriously.

All hail President Hillary!!
Try to keep up.

LOL!!
over the moon = extremely delighted; very pleased
President Trump?
Then why not president Jessie Ventura?
He has experience as a governor...
This is turning into a total joke.
The trick is to sort out who is coming here to live a virtuous life and who is coming here to undermine the same. That is what immigration efforts should target. Not easy in a country where bastard liberals don’t even teach what it means to be a citizen of the United States.
.
>> “The establishment is over the moon about this. They have figured out how to con the people who were resisting them.” <<
.
Exactly.
.
Meaning the left etc. realizes they can take one of their own people, have him say a few nonsense phrases that are inflammatory, and enough conservatives will ignore everything about that person and follow him like a lemming.
I haven’t decided who I support. Cruz, Trump, Paul, Walker are all under consideration.
Bush and Rubio are not the answer to anything.
I want to live under a Constitutional Republic. Quaint idea isn’t it.
I really like how Trump is taking it to the establishment. Lots of people are enjoying this.
Will the general public care about his "skeletons" ? I don't know...they don't give a damn about Hillarys.
He's NEVER been a Conservative, he pays off whomever he has to, but he has really sucked the air out of the room; right now.
The utter and complete stupidity of the majority of the now announced field is mind blowing! The vast majority of them have NO right even thinking about running! And the brain dead morons who support the likes of Carson, etc.is appalling beyond words! So who knows.....Trump just may have a bigger chance of pulling this out than he should; sadly.
Seinfeld is an example where everyone else gets it, but I’m left on the sidelines. I don’t get Seinfeld. Seems like everyone else does. I didn’t get “over the moon” (until your explanation), but everyone else seems to have. Thanks for that one. Can you help me with the other part of your post?
If you took out Trump and substituted Jindal, I could buy it.
How could nix Jeb and Rubio and support Trump. They may be RINOs, but they still have done more things conservative than Trump has. Examine his history. He has nothing to offer.
.
>> “This is the problem. They will have something to do about Trump.” <<
.
Trump is their ace in the hole against the conservatives.
Just look at the stupidity on this forum.
.
Yes, but this time people were suspicious, so he had to up the ante and announce he was running. No one would believe the boy who cried wolf anymore.
If you know so much about him, do you know his real net worth?
You said it! It’s a real phenomenon. May he stay safe and continue his words, not saying I’m a supporter, it’s nice to hear someone speak and not cower down, 2 days ago, they were talking about Trump pulling a “Todd Aiken”, now that talk is nowhere.
Trump’s popularity is a response to the shafting of the conservative base by the GOPe in the 2014 midterm election. They won the election based on promises to repeal ObamaCare, stop executive action amnesty for illegal aliens and the other unconstitutional actions of the current administration. Then, they did the opposite and gave the first half black, Muslim, ineligible president everything he wanted. Trump is the only one of this year’s apparent crop of candidates who didn’t participate in the charade.
Jindal is a good man who doesn’t have a chance for President. VP maybe.
Trump is a fighter and that is what we really need right now.
After the 2 Bush Presidencies, do you really think America is saying, “I need more of that”. Really.
Paul is naive on foreign policy. The other three are on my list.
Okay. Thank you. I understand your point now. Not sure if you might be too smart by half. I don’t really see Trump as a credentialed conservative. At the same time, I don’t see him as much subject to manipulation. But really, thanks for taking time to inform me of ideas that flew right past me.
Going forward, if my past proves to be consistent with the future, I will hear “over the moon” several times in the coming days in other contexts, much like it was for the words “gravitas” and “kerfuffle” back in the day.
Trump is a total liberal.
He can see what the hot buttons are and push them.
You can’t see that he is doing just that.
.
Trump has NEVER been a Conservative....not ever!
The thing is, Trump is POed over the Chinese ( some deal/s must have gone sour ) and has a flea up his nose re the Illegals ( as do we all ! ) and the Mexican government, right now. This is a vendetta for him.
He has ALWAYS "played" and/or PAID OFF all pols; Dem and GOP alike, as well as unions and foreign governments.
Who knows what he'd do as president? Neither you nor I do and you're just guessing/hoping!
