Texas Senator and Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) declared I am proud to defend Donald Trump and promoted his legislation to increase the number of H-1B visas if there are people who are educated and talented and creating jobs on Tuesdays Laura Ingraham Show. [...]
The discussion turned to legal immigration, Cruz said, we should improve and streamline legal immigration. He also discussed H-1B visas arguing that in the status quo, every year US colleges and universities educate tens of thousands of foreign students who are getting masters and PhDs in engineering and math and computer science, and were sending them back to their countries. And as a result, theyre going back to their countries, theyre starting businesses there. Theyre creating jobs there, and their companies are competing with us and taking jobs away from us. I dont think that makes any sense. So, Ive introduced legislation to increase the number of H-1B visas, if there are people who are educated and talented and creating jobs, the data shows for every H-1B visa holder that comes in, he or she creates 1.7 jobs for Americans here. I want job creations, I want innovators, I want new opportunities for America. Cruz was asked about Disneys use of H-1B visas to replace US workers who were forced to train their replacements, he stated that he didnt know the facts of the Disney case, so he couldnt comment.

His advisers have clearly told him he has to embrace legal immigration or be portrayed as a hypocrite, given his father’s story.
Also Cruz knows that Silicon Valley cash comes with H1-B strings attached
Uh oh..defends H1-B..INCOMING!!!
He needs to be ‘Educated’ on the H1B problem and that stand can be changed.
It’s not a deal breaker, he’s still the best in the field currently out there.
Well, sooner or later this is going to bite him in the tuckus, so he can only play the plausible deniability game so long.
“Cruz was asked about Disneys use of H-1B visas to replace US workers who were forced to train their replacements, he stated that he didnt know the facts of the Disney case, so he couldnt comment.”
Just another politico lying. It so disappointing he has swallowed the Zuckerberg BS including the hook, line and sinker.
Use the system Japan uses: Their guest workers are paid a 25% premium above the prevailing Japanese wage.
They get (and pay for) the extraordinary talent they need but look to their own people first, not last like here.
I hope you're right.
You do realize that Ted Cruz also stated a considerable list of conditions on his support for increasing H-1B visas?
Cruz has got to get rid of his handlers. He's smarter that that. His proper response would've been: that is an outrageous misuse of H1B Visas and those Visas should be put on hold until we can be sure that H1B Visas aren't being used to fill jobs US workers should be filling.
I wonder how many supporters Cruz will have without a strong stand about the invasion of the US. He only started regaining in the polls when he spoke up for Trump.
I'm thinking this and being played on the trade deal? Maybe Cruz isn't our friend on stopping the invasion of the US.
I suspect Cruz doesn't have to be told anything, he's bound to be conflicted same as Rubio.
US jobs for US citizens first.
Cruz just doesn’t get it. And it’s one of the few areas he disappoints me in.
Non sequitur - H-1Bs attach to employers not employees.
the data shows for every H-1B visa holder that comes in, he or she creates 1.7 jobs for Americans here.
The flaws of that analysis have been exposed at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3271551/posts?page=207#207 and following.
An important point and question: Did Cruz’s family come to the US illegally? If yes, then that would make him a hypocrite. If no, then the argument doesn’t apply.
My concern: I wonder if most Americans are able to understand the difference — breaking laws vs complying with laws. Democrats and Libs have phrased the debate so as to cover up this important fact.
That is the crux of the issue for most of us — illegals cheated the process while others followed the process. That is why they are called “illegal.” According to Democrats, cheaters should win. Why? Because they might vote Democrat. Politics over policy.
I'd like to see that list - do you know where I can find it?
Amen!
