Fans at Daytona International Speedway are defending and displaying their Confederate flags.
At NASCAR’s first race in the South since the racing series and its tracks urged fans to no longer wave the banner, dozens of Confederate flags were scattered throughout the vast infield.
The first motorhome inside the Turn 4 tunnel has one flying high above it, and it doesn’t take long to reach double figures when counting them on a stroll through the infield. They’re on clothing, coolers and cars, and even tattooed on skin.

Maybe the NASCAR honchos were using reverse-psychology and really wanted everybody to bring a Confederate flag?

I don’t fly a Confederate flag because blacks find it offensive. But I’ll fly one just because liberals find it offensive.

I admire the pushback, but ultimately, it doesn’t matter. The Democrats will have their way, and the South will be punished. You watch. Jade Helm 15 is about to start.

Never owned a Confederate flag and never wanted one, but I might buy my first one soon if this PC groveling and feeding frenzy continues.

I have never been a real NASCAR fan but did keep up a little during the 60s. I remember Fred Lorenzen and Fireball Roberts driving Fords.
I also remember was it 64 or 65 when Chrysler let loose the King Kong engine. I never really understood why the Hemi outperformed the Fords but it did.
One of my best friends had an old Chrysler with a 413 and two four barrels. I think it was actually a hemi too.

A while ago someone posted a reunion video with Jon Schneider and Tom Wopat. They rolled out a General Lee and they demonstrated after all these years the technique for sliding in through the windows of the General Lee.
That whole sliding across the hood thing was just way beyond cool for us kids.
