Sunday on Meet the Press, Republican presidential candidate Sen. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)96% said Donald Trumps comments about Mexico sending its criminals to the Untied States were bold and brash, but put a needed focus on the many Republicans who support the Chamber of Commerce and Wall Streets cheap labor immigration push. I am a passionate advocate for legal immigrants, Cruz said. I am the son of an immigrant who came legally from Cuba and Ill tell you, from the day I started campaigning I traveled the state of Texas talking about how all of us, we are the children of those who risks everything for freedom, that immigrant experience of all of us is what makes us Americans, because we value in our DNA liberty and opportunity above all else. Now when it comes to Donald Trump, I like Donald Trump. hes bold, hes brash.

I agree that Trump is not conservative on social issues. On economic and foreign policy issues I believe he is.
I would not want anyone at the top of the ticket but Cruz, but I think Trump would be an asset on economic policy.
you’re not paying any attention. You still cannot fathom of my very simple point.
Really sad that there’s so many illogical types on FR, who are quick to accuse and assume they see dark motives, but damned slow to actually process information as presented to them.
I can explain it to you, but I can’t understand it for you. And neither can you...
The field definitely needs clearing. I think it has been purposely cluttered.
You know when I listen to Ted Cruz speak and answer questions, I hear an honest man explaining himself and his reasoning. He is not one who ducks questions (like Hillary, who clearly has many things to hide).
I don’t agree with Cruz on everything. I disagreed with him on TPA for Obama, and even though I support legal immigration, I could be open to the idea of a complete halt on legal immigration for X amount of years, because frankly I don’t trust our government anymore, and it is possible that it is using legal immigration as a weapon just as it is using illegal immigration as a weapon.
But, that being said, I still believe Cruz is an honest man, and that is a rare, rare thing, so he continues to have my support.
I wish that I could believe that Trump believes what he is saying, but what I do believe is that he is an opportunist who knows how to reach those people whom he wants to reach.
A smart salesman knows how to make his product appeal to potential buyers, and in this case the product is himself.
I would like to believe that even a democrat could look at this immigration situation and be outraged by it. No the ends do not justify the means. The lust for power that is driving this invasion of illegal aliens is just disgusting, and anyone who would engage in this or support this does not deserve to have power over anyone.
So maybe Trump is a democrat who is outraged by this, and maybe he does mean it, I just don’t trust him yet, and I know that he is not a conservative republican. I’m not stupid enough to believe that he is one, so him saying that he is makes me angry. I don’t like being lied to.
If Trump wants me to believe him and what he says, he will have to explain himself honestly to me, and if he lies, I’ll know. I’ve been following politics for too long to be fooled so easily.
I am going to continue to watch Trump and support Cruz, lemme stop my ramble here.
Blech.
I agree...but we fight one battle at a time. If Trump clears the RINOs out of the field, then he’s done a bigger service than anyone else has been able to do. And if Trump does become president, he will have a hard time doing a complete 180 on border security...although he might not be with us on many other issues.
But the border is #1, by a mile, for me. Nothing else matters, if the Dems are able to bring in 30M new voters...for that definitely gives them the White House, the Courts, and probably Congress too. So if Trump is bad on guns, but good on immigration...then we’ll have to work with Trump (or his successors) on guns, but at least we’ll still be players, rather than be relegated to the role of Republicans in states like California.
But it’s still a long time before Primaries, and I suspect that if Cruz can keep hanging on to Trump’s coattails, Cruz will be the nominee. And so far, he’s doing great at that.
My main thing is/ was the 2nd Amendment, but I have to say in recent years I have become very alarmed with these massive waves of illegal immigration.
I truly believe that our government is trying like Hell to replace the population of this country with a new population that supports big government.
I see our government basically ripping the rug right out from under all American citizens and trying to put it under the feet of its new manufactured and preferred population.
It is really infuriating too. It is the ultimate betrayal. We have funded our own destruction and enriched the destroyers.
Even The Donald has not broached the the fact our government is doing this on purpose and by plan, but he has come the closest so far.
I would say that even more important than the 2nd Amendment, this immigration issue surpasses all others, because it is a literal killer, and it is a country destroyer.
I love your “Reverse The magnet” graphic, mind if I use that?
Wise up:
Cruz this morning:
“A lot of Republicans in the Washington cartel, they’re all for amnesty too because from the perspective of the chamber of commerce and Wall Street, it’s cheap labor,” he said.
Rubio is actively lying to and pursuing conservatives.
They are all political opportunists. None of them are pursuing this office for noble reasons. I just don’t see Trump as any worse than Bush, Rubio, Christie, et al.
All this being said, let’s just hope it’s Cruz.
Maybe he is, I don’t know, I haven’t really heard anything out of him other than our enemies don’t fear us, and our allies don’t trust us.
And yep, I’d say that’s true, but Rubio isn’t the person to change it.
Anyone who is conservative already knows and has known for some time that Rubio is a liar.
Except of course for Hannity, Rush and Levin... which is a real head scratcher.
bad analogy, for a number of reasons. In fact, the only thing the same is the “flawed” part.
But I do agree that extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures.
Please do. Everywhere and often!
Cruz touches the history of many people. My mother and father were immigrants. My brother was killed on Okinawa and I served on Leyte. We went into US military service as children of immigrants. I am of the opinion that many of the ‘immigrants’ today would not put their lives on the line for the US.
Walker likes to be on all sides of the issues. It’s hard to comment, when you are still measuring political winds.
But Cruz himself won’t promise not to give legalization (amesty) to illegals once our overlords proclaim the border “secure”.
Ted Cruz deserves commendation for having the courage to speak the truth and go against the other dozen amnesty loving RINO’s.
If Trump is lying about the illegals problem, those are the exact “lies” I want to hear. Where are the other dozen RINO’s on this issue? Only Cruz backed Trump on this issue.
I like Walker, but I’m going with Cruz.
