I’d expect WIDE spread civil disobedience on this one.

Even in liberal states, a petty bureaucrat enforcing this in a town could expect to at the very least get his car keyed.

The closest thing to civil disobedience was Tea Party. And that movement has pretty much faded away. For the most part the sheeple are passive and apathetic. I don’t mean to be negative; just keeping it real.

Many communities (including most in my area) already ban individual use of fireworks; for years, the only legal fireworks displays have been the ones put on by the communities themselves.

As for banning barbecuing, there will be some resistance, but most of the sheeple will accept it just as they have accepted all of the other infringements on personal liberty in recent years.

You can assault the First, Second, Fourth and Fifth Amendments, Separation of Powers, Legislative authority, etc.

But DON’T be touchin’ Americans’ Barbecue.

There would be hell to pay.

It is usually insidious control. A town can’t get the permits or is fined so it just doesn’t organize any municipal fireworks displays. Individual displays are curtailed because of outright prohibition or simply the unavailability of fireworks. Back yard BBQs get curtailed by bans on outside burning or HOA restrictions,. It is the death of a thousand cuts. There needs to be a strike at the heart of darkness. The EPA needs to be abolished, but we need politicians willing to take on the war against the Leftist control freaks.

There are already plenty of places where a large percentage of the population buys illegal fireworks. I don’t see this law as being very enforceable.

(For the record, I’m in favor of allowing any adult to buy anything they want. Just don’t light them near me, my family, or my property. And don’t expect me to pay your hospital bills when you blow your fingers off or burn yourself. (I know that 0vomitcare requires that I pay, but I strongly object to paying for another person’s deliberate stupidity. If you’re intelligent, you either don’t buy fireworks or you know how to handle them safely) Make all the noise you want, but try to do it within a few days of the 4th, please.)

Fireworks are illegal in Chicago without a license. Yet use of them are heavy in my neighborhood. Every year my dog is terrified.

“Official” fireworks shows could be hurt. That would piss people off.

Laws against bbq (on private property) would not be enforceable. In parks or something though...
