Latino media advocacy leaders say NBCs decision Monday to end its business ties with presidential candidate Donald Trump because of his denigrating comments about Mexicans marked a watershed moment for Latinos.
Things are never going to be the same, said Alex Nogales, the president and CEO of the National Hispanic Media Coalition, a Latino media advocacy group, about Latino empowerment. When have we seen Latinos come out so quickly and strongly against something, and get a result so quickly?

Latinos are traitors if they are more loyal to ethnicity across borders, than to America. And that is how it appears for many.
Trump’s remarks were 100% aimed at foreigners.
They still don’t have the clout of gays. Trump will not take on the gays or Muslims.
It’s not even Latinos - it’s media created hype and people, of any race, believing it an latching on making it look bigger than it is. Same as the militant gay rights movement, which probably isn’t even shared by a majority of gays who are an extraordinarily small percentage of the population - most people involved in advancing it are masses of people believing in problems and a cause that don’t actually exist.
Very true. I went to Mexico City several years ago on business and was amazed at the number of well educated and wealthy people that live there. I spoke with people who were lawyers, doctors, business owners, and entrepreneurs. Much like what we see in major cities here. Almost all of them I encountered spoke English as a second language, and very well in most instances. To compare these people with the poor rabble coming in through our southern border is astonishing. Mexico has a huge underclass of uneducated and unskilled people. Those are the ones that are streaming into the United States whereas the professionals are staying home. So true what you said.
No, it’s synonymous with “suck up to it like it was black.”
My longtime boycott of NBC will continue.
I admit, it’s a lazy boycott as everything on NBC sux.
I agree with that. It’s the same dynamic that’s taken over on the Dixie Flag.
Only a few loud mouth activists are driving this.
Same thing with Trump too.
Most folks know he’s right.
The Left is play for keeps and the Right is taking a nap.
“Who is doing that raping and setting up “rape trees” along the route Mr Nogales - the Amish (again)?”
How about rich frat boys from the University of Arizona? Do they have a lacrosse team there? /sarcasm
Except for Cruz, the rest of the GOP Clowns are hiding in fear.
Afraid of their own shadows.
With the exception of Cruz, it is truly Clown Car.
Yeah, well the Alamo was also a watershed example of Latino clout.
WELL said!
Meanwhile everybody is ignoring the real problem: Our laws are causing this problem. Not the Mexican government, not the media, etc. Our laws ensure that many people will come here from Mexico and other places.
Advertisers should pay NBC in pesos.
LOL
Yeah, I much rather have illegal aliens and let the flag remain.
As if Trump has any say about that flag anyway.
There’s nothing wrong with the flag. I disagree with him.
Eh lets just toss it in. None of the Right are going to do anything about illegal immigration anyway.
Seriously, this is turning into a complete melt-down.
Not Cruz, not Walker, not any of these folks are going to return the illegals to Mexico, and if they do clamp down on new entries, they will set up a system where everyone who wants can come over legally.
We’re watching a game where nobody will play by the rules, trying to pick the best guy who won’t play by the rules.
Trump should just buy NBC. It would be hilarious.
Take on gays? The man who hired flaming homo Perez Hilton to judge the Miss USA pageant? lol!
