Patrol Officer Zach Ropos of Ohio spotted a little girl selling lemonade, and decided to grab a drink. He talked with the girl for a few minutes, heard what she had to say about why she was raising money, and went about his business.
Ropos returned the very next day, and had this to say
I talked to the little girl, gave her a speech about how courageous and admirable I think her efforts were to save up her money. I asked her how much she saved up, and she said she only had a few dollars. Initially the girl had more cash saved up, but lent it to her mother in order to fill the gas tank.

Looks like a Mayberry Andy Taylor ping here.
Nice cop. He didn’t demand a business license and a health permit from the little girl.
It’s a shame that common decency anymore is so notable that it requires a news story.
This is great because it shows the girl that the police are their friend, and policemen are human beings too(a shocker!).
And she get to experience the joys of running your own show, so to speak. No substitute for independence.
I wonder if she charged her mother a fee or interest for loaning that gas money?
Oh, I’m glad that this went the opposite way of what I was expecting from the headline.
Yay for the cop!
I’m always pleased when I find that there are still some wonderful ones left.
Its a shame that common decency anymore is so notable that it requires a news story.
I do more than my fair share of griping about law enforcement, but Im sure you could fill 100 papers every day with good things that cops do.
I just dont happened to think that it overrides the bad.
I’m used to them showing up en-mass to bust up the evil lemonade cartels.
This went differently, so..where can we copy several hundred thousand units of this guy?
Very nice to read this. Nice guy. Yay for our side.
Turns out that old Andy was pretty easily-swayed by leftist lies.
Nice act, but Andy turned out to be a FLAMING LIBERAL who helped get Obamacare passed!!
I held my breath fully expecting him to come back and confiscate all of here stuff and then issue her a citation.
Thank you, I was going to respond in a very similar fashion.
Too much Vitajex
Too bad Andy turned out to be a leftie. Don Knotts on the other hand...a solid conservative!
Its a shame that common decency anymore is so notable that it requires a news story
So a good story by conservative media is done about a local cop and you think that it's a sign that good behavior is unusual.
Unbelievable.
Keep reading the pro Obama, anti cop, MSM stuff, half of it which is BS and the other half which only represents a relatively small number of rogue cases, out of about 900,000 local police that are on the beat every day.
It’s just like Shakespeare wrote:
“The evil that men do lives after them,
The good is oft interred with their bones.”
- Julius Caesar, from Marc Antony’s funeral oration.
‘Hope he’s not brought up for dereliction of duty. Rest assured, some prog at the County level is fuming.
Glad to hear that about Mr Knotts. Andy was a leftist dolt. Loved the show tho.
