NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt, Jr. opened up in a recent interview, discussing his strong opinions about the Confederate flag.
When topic was raised by reporters at the Sonoma Raceway on Friday, the 40-year-old stock car driver did not bite his tongue when supporting the need to remove it.
“I think it’s offensive to an entire race. It does nothing for anybody to be there flying, so I don’t see any reason.”
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. further identified the one place where he feels the Confederate flag belongs and should remain.
“It belongs in the history books and that’s about it.”
USA Today reports that Dale Earnhardt, Jr. agreed with NASCAR in regards to removing the Confederate flag from the grounds of the state capitol of South Carolina.

I knew Dale Sr. from CMS, The Rock, and Darlington, and from what I remember he was all Southern like me. His friends weren’t Yankees, and he was as conservative as anyone I know. Campaigned for every Republican that asked.
I also remember Dale didn’t give a tinkers damn what color a mans skin was.
I guess Michael Sam can always get a job on Dale Jr.’s pit crew if his football career doesn’t work out.

Whoa, who are you speaking of. Jr. has never called himself that nick name, and Sr. was given that nickname by Darrel Waltrip.
I know these people, and you are denigrating some of the best people in the world. They have always been stand up guys. I don’t know why Jr. said what he did, but seems we don’t like it when someones free speech doesn’t agree with ours.

Just? NASCAR committed suicide when they decided to become Indy car lite, let in Toyota, started mandating every aspect of the car and engine design, etc.
