President Obama faced off with a heckler during a reception celebrating LGBT Pride Month at the White House, telling the person youre in my house.
Obama was interrupted shortly after beginning his speech to the crowd by a person who repeatedly shouted the presidents name.
No, no, no , no. Listen, youre in my house, Obama told the person.
Youre not going to get a good response from me by interrupting me like this, Obama said.
But the heckler would not let up, despite Obamas pleas, boos from the crowd and chants of Obama! Obama! The president became visibly irritated, and the woman was escorted from the room at his request.
Shame on you, you shouldnt be doing this, he said.
The protester was identified as Jennicet Gutiérrez by the Not One More Campaign, which opposes the Obama administrations deportation policies.
Gutiérrez, an undocumented transgender woman, could be heard shouting not one more and stop all deportations.
As a general rule, I am just fine with a few hecklers, Obama said. But not when I am up in the house. My attitude is if youre eating the hors d'oeuvres, you know what Im saying? And drinking the booze? I know thats right.
Turning back to his speech, Obama touted the gains made for gays and lesbians under his administration and addressed an imminent Supreme Court ruling on whether same-sex marriage is a constitutional right.
"There are a few decisions coming down in the next few days that I'm paying close attention to, he said. However the decision comes down on the marriage issue, one thing is undeniable: there has been an incredible shift in attitudes across the country.
He noted there were two states where gay marriage was legal when he took office, but now there are 37.
Obama said transgender people are increasingly accepted by mainstream America, noting high-profile individuals who have come out and TV shows that "transgender individuals and families," an apparent nod to Caitlyn Jenner.
The power of example is slowly changing peoples hearts, Obama said.
“Gutiérrez, an undocumented transgender woman”
Perfect.
Jebcito Bush and Lindsey Graham will be trying to recruit this rising star.
I saw the whole thing on the evening “news” a little while ago.
I was yelling at the TV, “IT’S NOT YOUR HOUSE, IT’S THE
PEOPLE’S HOUSE!”
You didn't build that, asshat.
Nope, an illegal-Democrat voter.
What's that about "Birds of a feather..?"
Its gotta be some kind of Tri-fecta.
The more of a minority you can prove yourself to be the more control you have over the whole of society itself!
What an arrogant POS...lets show the B whose house it really is...IT IS OUR HOUSE YOU LOUSY CRAP HOLE MUSLIM IMPOSTER COMMUNITY ORGANIZER RACE BAITING SOB!
Up in the house? Is that like "Up is someone's business? Homeboy speak? He grew up elite, the 1%. Poseur!
an illegal gets to come here across the border and finds a way into OUR HOUSE and where is security for crying out loud?
No. He’s in OUR house. WE own it, not him.
BS, Baraq.
You’re in MY house. It’s a pity you’re not smart enough to realize it.
“My house . . . he really does think hes king, does he not.”
It is his house while he legally lives there just like he was renting it or paying a montage.
In this case republicans could learn something from the Obamanation of Desolation. Don’t respond to hecklers by trying to understand them simply have them removed
Well, it’s a transgender pervert. So it was probably the date of some Congressman.
Ralph Kramden: Your house? *Your house*? This is *my* house, Alice! M-Y house, my house! MY house!
Alice Kramden: Oh, I am sorry, Ralph. I forgot, it *is* your house. You really have been very big-hearted, Ralph, sharing it with me, letting me live here with you in the lap of luxury like this. Dont think that I dont appreciate it, Ralph, cause I do. After all, where else would I get a beautiful home like this?
“an illegal gets to come here across the border and finds a way into OUR HOUSE and where is security for crying out loud?”
Another excellent question.
I think that everyone should pick and choose the laws that will be obeyed, because everyone else seems to be picking and choosing the ones that will be enforced. .Why not pick a day for it?
Got that right.
If the man>I say that with tongue n cheek> who heads the country can’t respect or abide our laws then why are we?
He/she/it may have been invited for a date with Barky.
The correct response would have been: “No, not really. You are temporarily in my (the peoples’) house.”
