Is this bolder than what Haley did or not as bold? Davis may not hold the same cultural currency as a symbol of southern pride that the flag does, but Haley had less to lose in making her move than Bevin does. Shes the term-limited governor of South Carolina; hes the GOP nominee for governor in Kentucky. If theres a broader southern backlash coming to all of the criticism of Confederate iconography this past week, hell pay for it more than she will.

I’ve been talking secession since Clinton got through the impeachment shenanigans.
I’m told that there is a tradition in the state house that the first vote in every session is for Texas to secede. It always fails by one vote. Not sure they still do it. Probably afraid to do it now.
You nailed it. The GOP should merge with the Democrats to form the Go-Along Party. Their motto? “Why be bothered with principles on election day, when you can Go-Along to get along?”
Why would the government do us a favor like that?
The golfer Bubba Watson has one of these cars.
That figures LOL!
I used to love that show when I was a kid.
I see what you did there.
"The new Constitution has put at rest forever all the agitating questions relating to our peculiar institutionsAfrican slavery as it exists among usthe proper status of the negro in our form of civilization. This was the immediate cause of the late rupture and present revolution. Jefferson, in his forecast, had anticipated this, as the "rock upon which the old Union would split." He was right. What was conjecture with him, is now a realized fact. But whether he fully comprehended the great truth upon which that rock stood and stands, may be doubted. The prevailing ideas entertained by him and most of the leading statesmen at the time of the formation of the old Constitution were, that the enslavement of the African was in violation of the laws of nature; that it was wrong in principle, socially, morally and politically. It was an evil they knew not well how to deal with; but the general opinion of the men of that day was, that, somehow or other, in the order of Providence, the institution would be evanescent and pass away... Those ideas, however, were fundamentally wrong. They rested upon the assumption of the equality of races. This was an error. It was a sandy foundation, and the idea of a Government built upon itwhen the "storm came and the wind blew, it fell. Our new Government is founded upon exactly the opposite ideas; its foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery, subordination to the superior race, is his natural and normal condition. . . look with confidence to the ultimate universal acknowledgement of the truths upon which our system rests? It is the first government ever instituted upon the principles in strict conformity to nature, and the ordination of Providence, in furnishing the materials of human society. Many governments have been founded upon the principle of the subordination and serfdom of certain classes of the same race; such were and are in violation of the laws of nature. Our system commits no such violation of nature's laws." - Confederate Vice President Alexander Stephens at the Athenaeum in Savannah, Georgia, on March 21, 1861.
OMG!
All of these Pubbie politicians trying to one-up each other.

Sad.
Might as well just ban all sales of Mountain Dew for that matter !
btw, like your post-esp- “that’s the ticket” ——Jon Lovitz appeared right in my head~! !
I don't think they've thought it through that far. It's like the old story about killing the goose that laid the golden egg. Human nature is the same now as it was then.
I loved that character! The liar. Fits the Clintons and the Obamas, doesn’t it?
Let me ask you a question and point out the pink elephant in the room. If the “Negro” race is equal to the white race, why has the Black race not done as well as the white race even with affirmative action?
They have lived in this country since it’s founding yet they still can’t speak the language. Can you honestly explain why that is? Sherman knew what he was talking about.
The thought of one human OWNING another is sickening. But what is it when the government feeds, houses and clothes the black man? Does the government not own him? The only difference between the government and the plantation owners is the government doesn’t make them work. The black man doesn’t realize it, but he still isn’t free. But the shackles he wears he put there himself.
I’m offended by Martain Luther King streets........ they all must go
Racist streets must not be tolerated
Erase all history!!! It is the only way!!!!
Forget our past and move toward a bold BLANK BLANK future...
They’ll just steal white people’s money. That’s what they really want.
[ Maybe we should just ban all of the original Confederate states... Just throw them out of the country. ]
Yeah, Dag Nabbit, they all vote for Republicans these days anyways, so we don’t need them in the country anymore...
If you don’t care then stay off these threads. I am a
Southerner and am proud of my ancestors and the Battle Flag.
