Republican Prosecuted for Withdrawing Cash from Bank

Can’t believe it… The timing here is just eerie, especially after what happened a few days ago…

America’s most respected newspaper, The New York Times, just published an article titled: “When It’s a Crime to Withdraw Money From Your Bank.”

The NYT article details how Federal lawyers (from Obama’s Federal Bureau of Investigation), are prosecuting a former Republican representative for withdrawing his own money from his own bank account.

DEVELOPING: Senator: “go to the ATM machine… draw out everything it will let you take”

The Republican politician, former Speaker of the House under President George H. Bush, now faces a criminal sentence… For withdrawals of up to $8,000. From his own bank account.

This comes just days after the release of a video exposing the possible government cover up of a severe cash shortage about to hit ordinary Americans… One that could see ATMs across the country shutting down.

I agree. So long as it’s my money that I came by honestly then it’s none of the governments’ damned business what I do with it.

Nothing new really. This crap came with the patriot act.

Its how Rush Limbaugh got caught on the Oxycontin thing. Something like an unusual banking pattern.

And the IRS will send it’s SWAT team to arrest you, after which you will be tried by an IRS prosecutor in an IRS court under IRS rules. Where’s Lee Greenwood, I need some music.

Talk about bait and switch.

The "crime" he is accused of committing has nothing to do with any potential conspiracy theory with regard to the shutting down of banks.

Don't bother going there as it is clearly one of those websites and offers no details on who and what charges.

No specifics.

It is like one of those, if not one of those, webpages that is usually found at the bottom of a webpage that is simply looking for clicks. You know thew type, 'click here' to buy gold, or click here to save on your mortgage or find out the secret money managers don't want you to know. . ..

IMHO. . .

Only a matter of time before the government makes cash illegal and forces us to use debit cards from the US Treasury.

not a word about the blackmail involved...

And certainly not a word about how he came into all that cash.

Hmmmmmmm.....

I used to think they would ban cash too.
But after practicing criminal law (as defense attorney and prosecutor) I’m now convinced they won’t do such a thing.
If they did, it would seriously impair the drug trade. They don’t want that.
Way too many government jobs and “policing for profit” opportunities at stake.

Hastert was happy to allow the prosecution of citizens for the same thing.

He was the Speaker of the House - he should have changed the law then.

Well, I got a check for $8,500 from my insurance company. I was thinking of paying the tilesetter in cash. Maybe he’d give me a bit of a discount? So will I get busted when I withdraw it from my account?

It’s really in the name of control.

It’s difficult to fund a revolution against tyranny when the tyrant controls your money.

It appears our government has been getting lessons from the EU. When one’s money is in a bank in any EU country, getting out more than $400/day is quite difficult and normally involves an interview with a bank official and filling out multiple forms. Bottom line - the bank gets to decide how much of your own money you need.
