Witless Ape Rides Escalator [Trump]
National Review ^ | June 16, 2015 | Kevin D. Williamson

Posted on 06/16/2015 1:50:28 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Donald Trump may be the man America needs. Having been through four bankruptcies, the ridiculous buffoon with the worst taste since Caligula is uniquely positioned to lead the most indebted organization in the history of the human race.

The Trump conglomerate is the Argentina of limited-liability companies, having been in bankruptcy as recently as 2009. To be sure,a lot of companies went bankrupt around then. The Trump gang went bankrupt in 2004,too,and in 2001. Before that, Trump was in bankruptcy court back in 1991 when his Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City—the nation’s first casino-cum-strip-club, an aesthetic crime against humanity that is tacky by the standards of Atlantic City—turned out to be such a loser that Trump could not make his debt payments.

The closing of that casino has been announced at least twice—it was supposed to shut its doors in December, but it limps on.

Donald Trump, being Donald Trump, announced his candidacy at Trump Plaza, making a weird grand entrance via escalator—going down, of course, the symbolism of which is lost on that witless ape. But who could witness that scene—the self-made man who started with nothing but a modest portfolio of 27,000 New York City properties acquired by his millionaire slumlord father, barely out of his latest bankruptcy and possibly headed for another one as the casino/jiggle-joint bearing his name sinks into the filthy mire of the one U.S. city that makes Las Vegas look respectable, a reality-television grotesque with his plastic-surgery-disaster wife, grunting like a baboon about our country’s “brand” and his own vast wealth—and not see the peerless sign of our times?

On the substance, Trump is—how to put it gently? Oh, why bother!—an ass. Not just an ass, but an ass of exceptionally intense asininity........

I agree with your post 12. I’m amazed at the vitriol going around mocking and ridiculing him. I was even surprised at Rush today. Clearly Trump has hit a nerve deep within the Republican party. The question is: why?

So the Trump Organization sold the Taj? These are half-truths that drive me up a wall. If DT is not a good candidate that will come out - no need to fabricate the story.

Why not focus on the real issue? Can and will each candidate take up to where we need to be? We all know we are close to freefalling into the abyss, let’s hear everyone out then get 100% behind one person.

I thought you had your hands full trying to splain why Teddy is hot to hand Obama unlimited trade authority. :-)

Lets weigh it out. Trump gave $314,000 to the Dems in a 21 year period so $14,952 per year.

Cruz wants to let BHO fast track 40% of the world’s GDP and then just do an up or down vote.

Hmmm!

Read Post #29.

We've been to this rodeo before.

“Best go find that rifle, it’s going to be bumpy flight”

I don’t think so. I think its going to be a fun flight. :-)

Hey its tough when your guy screws up. I don’t blame you for coming here. The heat to defend Cruz on TPA is intense. :-)

Yeh last night I heard I think Brit Hume say nobody is more conservative than George Will who writes for the National Review and I almost threw up in my mouth. :-)

It was Brit Hume and the wife and I both laughed out loud and shook our collective heads.

That’s correct. Trump’s greatest skill is his ability to tiptoe around the edge of bankruptcy law, preserving his own wealth while leaving his “partners” holding the bag.

He didn’t need to take a cheap shot at Trump’s wife. It makes him look petty and witless as well.

with out doubt, the mighty Donald went to China and thy made him a deal that screwed him to the wall. He has hated Chinamen ever since

Once he is out of Manhattan and dealing with American Jews, Donald is out of his league

I’d think we would at least want to be accurate about where Trump is NOW, not where Trump was many years ago.

That’s what it would look like as a one-spoiler contest (the downside of an independent party).

What about a TWO-spoiler contest???

In another thread, someone called Trump a “white overprivileged sexist jerk” (meant in irony, I suspect). LOL!

Per your suggestion, I read post 29.

You don’t trust his intentions. I notice that quite a few others are also skeptical.

But he’s one of a dozen who have declared, or will probably declare their candidacy, not one of only three like Perot.

Couldn’t any one of these people be looked upon as some kind of spoiler who will split the vote? Carly Fiorina is somewhat of an outsider and a corporate businesswoman.

I am of the opinion that until DT shows me he’s playing games I will assume what he says is sincere (adjusted for his ego). But at the same time I recognize you have a valid point as well, so I’ll keep my eyes and ears open along the way.

Right now my support is for Ted Cruz and unless and until he gives me a reason not to, I plan on pulling the Cruz lever next November.

Right. The past is the past.

This is our last chance. Some argue convincingly it’s already over. So let’s take our time and at least give everyone the courtesy to hear them out.

As I’m sure you know, the Establishment still has the power and still makes the rules which is, namely, ‘heads I win; tails you lose’. Bucking them will take a lot of commitment and endurance and unity on our part.

I didn’t say Trump was an idiot. I said that Williamson and NR were driven crazy and discredited themselves.

". . . not from the liberal media."

Wow, their quacking and walking like a duck so often had me fooled.

Thanks for clearing that up.
