Walker open to teaming up with Rubio on 2016 ticket

Gov. Scott Walker (Wis.) is open to the idea of teaming up with Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) on a GOP presidential ticket, he told Bloomberg on Thursday.

“I do like Marco Rubio, I think he and I have similar thoughts on national defense and foreign policy,” Walker, who is weighing a 2016 run, said in an interview on Bloomberg's With All Due Respect.

Asked by Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin if he would be open to announcing in December that the two of them would run as a ticket, and settle who would be the nominee for president and vice president later, Walker replied that some supporters had pitched that idea.

“I've actually had quite a few people, grassroots supporters, donors, and others, who have made that suggestion,” Walker said.

“For now, you know, Marco is a quality candidate. He's going to be formidable in this race as things progress. And if we were to get in, we'd be as well, and we'll see where things take us.”

He added that he and Rubio have joked that people mention the two possibly pairing up and said they would likely “have to arm wrestle over who would be top of the ticket."

‘Can you post some link which will confirm Governor Walker wants “Open Borders”?”

Here you go.

He says he has changed his view, but he is in the Rubio camp so I would suggest he is a wet.

If Rubio’s on the ticket I’m really going to have to hold my nose.

We should be used to it y now. Even Reagan had Bush on his ticket and I doubt it was by his choice alone.

At this point the ticket is Cruz’s to lose.

There is nothing left for him to sell. He is the only candidate that draws crowds.

You are the perfect example of what I call the primary season Freeper.

No one ever sees your kind until primary season when you come in here and start making declarations of who can and can’t win.

I just happen to notice things like that.

Actually, I don’t think that is entirely fair.

Not that Rubio doesn’t have his flaws....I think they all do, as a matter of fact—even Cruz.

But we aren’t looking for the Messiah. He is already ruling over the affairs of men at the right hand of the Father. :-)

Where’s the difference? Both Rubio and Bush are pro-amnesty. Forget it.

Governor Walker certainly has flipped on illegal immigration issue. But at least he has flipped in the good direction!

Are you aware that senator Cruz wants to increse foreign workers on H1-B visa FIVE fold? I am sure Google will yield a link to that item. Cruz is also AGAINST deporting 11 million illegals.

My point is they ARE ALL for amnesty in different form. Because when you do not deport the illegals and allow them to stay, in my book that is amnesty. I feel like a fool having to have jump through several hoops to acquire my US citizenship LEGALLY.

Im pretty sure Rubio will be on the ticket....maybe with Cruz, Walker or Perry. At this point its still just talk for die hard observers like FReepers. We will see a lot of ups and downs for awhile.

Cruz also is against deporting the 11 million illegals.

You can't find one prospective candidate in the GOP that will say deport the illegals, heck it is hard to get them to suggest that we enforce the law.

Anne Coulter,

the one who has fallen, has been begging them to take the firm stand and contrary to popular opinion here she dumped Cristy like a hot rock when he called for legal citizenship for all. Romney was the default regardless of his position, the only alternative was to roll over for Obama.

Hope a lot of people watched Carly’s interview on Fox earlier. Incredibly articulate lady.

Yes, impressive lady. And she had a lot of facts and specifics to fit the questions put to her; didn't just spout talking points. Defended herself well in addressing her "failure" at HP.

Cruz is the only one that has a chance!

He is the guy that instantly draws crowds and money.

Cruz didn't kiss the Ring of Romney. To be fair, neither did Bush but it was only because he was in Europe kissing some European rings at the time.

Republican field looks to Romney for ’16 help

NOT SMART. I like Walker but for a candidate struggling to understand the impact of Open Borders and Amnesty, Rubio is the LAST PERSON he should team up with.

...makes me wonder if he still doesn’t “get it” on Amnesty...even now.

.....”Some of you Cruz supporters are frighteningly too similar to Obama supporters”.....

Oh for pity’s sake!...what an underhanded thing to say. There’s not one Freeper on this site who could be compared to an Obama supporter....maybe Reagan supporter would have been a better choice of words.

I tire easily of those who use such catch phrases when in a Presidential race. Everyone here who is a Conservative is eager to see the best man win.....and Cruz definitly belongs on the side of Conservative.

This is a Presidential race.....they are in it to win so should be given room to ..”slide” ..in order to attract more voters to gain that win.

I say know your candidate and how he stands on the issues before hand....then you can know where the slide is and why.

The hit pieces from the Enemy Media come fast and furious each and every day. They are TERRIFIED of the good crop of candidates we have this time around.

And who do THEY have to prop up? Hillary! ROFLMAO!

It’s time for the pendulum to swing back to the RIGHT in a BIG WAY. And it’s well past time for heads on pikes! :)
