Investigators examining last month's fatal crash of an Amtrak train in Philadelphia now believe they know whether the engineer was using his phone when the derailment happened, a source with knowledge of the probe said Wednesday.
The source didn't reveal the National Transportation Safety Board investigators' conclusions. But the NTSB is expected to make an announcement about the crash at 9 a.m. ET Wednesday.

My best guess is that he fell into a hypnotized state of mind at the time of the crash.
What would be the reason for the near 100 mph situation?
Well he was to busy going at throttle up
What was he doing then? Getting serviced?
He certainly wasn’t doing his job.
*cough, cough*
I believe I read that his blood test was clear for alcohol and other drugs
I don’t know the track or the train at all. Perhaps, just prior to the turn he was allowed to travel 100 mph. If he’s in a state of hypnosis, he may not have been able to think about watching his speed.
This question needs to be answered.
All the engineer has to do is stick to his narrative (can’t remember anything) and he’ll be home free.
So what was the info they released?
How do you put the lives of hundreds of people in the hands of a person who has trouble remembering’?
Yet another abysmal HR screw up.
We are all increasingly at the mercy of near idiots who function at a 3rd grade level yet are entrusted with our health, finances, future and well being.
Gee...ain’t Amerika great!
I watched CNN this morning. They had the news announcement around 9:15.
He was doing 70 mph a few minutes before the crash and then proceeded to increase his speed to over 100 mph in a corridor that called for the speed to decrease to 50 mph.
It almost sounds like he intentionally did this.
No, his hands were occupied on the throttle increasing the speed so that Homosexual activist could kill himself and all his passengers.
His phone wouldn't have helped.
He coulda been using the phone to play tetris.
Same reason as the "German Wings" Airplane crash. A Despondent Homosexual felt the need to kill himself and his passengers, so he increased speed to crash the train.
You are misunderstanding the situation. Anyone who was knocked unconscious will be unable to remember the moments leading up to being knocked unconscious.
Being rendered unconscious interferes with the brains ability to fix longer term memories. This is a routine occurrence for anyone who has been knocked out. Nobody can remember what happened just before they were knocked out. It's physiologically impossible.
Yes it does. At this point I want to remind everyone that this Engineer was a Homosexual activists, and the most likely cause of his behavior was an attempted suicide where he "takes everyone with me."
This is exactly what the "German Wings" Pilot (Also alleged to be Homosexual) did.
> I believe I read that his blood test was clear for alcohol and other drugs
But id they test him for semen?.../s
