I don’t know the track or the train at all. Perhaps, just prior to the turn he was allowed to travel 100 mph. If he’s in a state of hypnosis, he may not have been able to think about watching his speed.
This question needs to be answered.
He was doing 70 mph a few minutes before the crash and then proceeded to increase his speed to over 100 mph in a corridor that called for the speed to decrease to 50 mph.
It almost sounds like he intentionally did this.
