Jeb Bush names Romney, McCain veteran as campaign manager

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush on Monday named a veteran of Mitt Romney and John McCain’s presidential campaigns as his campaign manager, a week before he makes his own bid official.

Bush named Danny Diaz as campaign manager, a position that was widely expected to go to Dave Kochel, a Republican operative with experience in Iowa politics.

Bush senior adviser Sally Bradshaw said in a statement that Kochel “can best position us for success by playing a key leadership role focusing on how Jeb wins primaries, caucuses, and ultimately the general election.” She said Diaz’s “skill at rapidly moving content and campaign organization makes him perfectly suited for running the day-to-day operations.”

Diaz’s appointment -- first reported in the Wall Street Journal -- was widely viewed as a shakeup, as Bush has slid in early polls and struggled last month over how to answer a question about the Iraq war started by his brother.

Well that campaign is finished and make no mistake, both the Clinton and Bush dynasties are imploding as we speak.

Given that these guys they hired are Romney/McCain advisers, I have to assume that Jeb’s plan must be to win the nomination in the Spring, and then lose in November.

Hopefully enough Republicans can figure this out.
