Just weeks before he is expected to announce his presidential campaign, Bobby Jindal is at the nadir of his political career.
The Republican governor is at open war with many of his erstwhile allies in the business community and the legislature. He spent weeks pushing a religious freedom bill that failed to pass, while having little contact with legislators trying to solve Louisianas worst budget crisis in 25 years.
Jindal is now so unpopular in deep-red Louisiana that his approval rating plunged to 32 percent in a recent poll compared with 42 percent for President Obama, who lost the state by 17 percentage points in 2012.

Piyush Jindal was kind enough to leave Iowa to visit Shreveport/Bossier City today...the Red River is over the banks.

He has absolutely no chance or being elected president and one would be a fool to pick Bobby as his running mate.
He would not even be a candidate for a top cabinet post.

huh, Dems arent ever said to reach political bottom in news headlines...even when they fail miserably its always positive adjectives attached to Dems

JINDAL is the only one addressing IMPORTING JIHAD. That is what I like about him. That Indian heritage comes in damn handy on this issue.

I like Jindal’s politics but he looks like ET. Going nowhere in a basket. The Big hitters are Cruz, Paul, Walker. Tha’s it

Here are the hopefuls, by party, some have declared, there may be some I've forgotten to list, I've boldfaced my two (and only two) favorites and put strikes through the unacceptable candidates (that could grow):
Pubbies (seven declared, up to four more within a week or so):
- Ben Carson [declared]
- Bobby Jindal (gov of LA)
- Carly Fiorina [declared]
Chris Christie (gov of NJ) Donald Trump- George Pataki
Jeb Bush- John Kasich (gov of OH)
Lindsey Graham [declared] - Marco Rubio [declared]
Mike Huckabee [declared] Peter KingRick Perry [declared] Rick Santorum- Sarah Palin

- Ted Cruz [declared]
other possible candidates:
- Brian Sandoval
- Jim Gilmore
- Kelly Ayotte
- Mike Pence
- Mitch Daniels
- Nikki Haley (gov of SC)
- Susana Martinez (gov of NM)
|
Here are some combos that make sense to me at this time:

- Ted Cruz, with running mate Carly Fiorina
- Ted Cruz, with running mate John Kasich
- Ted Cruz, with running mate Peter King
- Ted Cruz, with running mate Ben Carson
- Ted Cruz, with running mate Mike Huckabee

Who are the people who are posting the "Paul" keywords? Neither Rand Paul nor Rand Paul are mentioned in the article. Also, I'm definitely not a fan of either of them. They're too out there for me.

I like Jindals politics but he looks like ET.

That never stopped 0bama. And Hillary looks like a crazed witch (because she is one).

Peter King is a Liberal Republican, and has turned more liberal in recent years. Donald Trump, is a phony, who just wants FREE publicity for his businesses, and keeps saying he’s going to run for POTUS, as well as NY State governor, but never does.

Leave it to the liberal Washington Post to claim religious freedom as the reason. Guess they’re against the First Amendment, unless it affects them, of course.
Also, I think Jindal’s polls will increase against. He’s a smart guy.

Clue me in. What did Jindhal do that was too liberal? Or is he the victim of being too conservative for the Washington Post?
To: SunkenCiv
I notice that Walker/Cruz and Cruz/Walker are not on your list of “matchups that make sense”.

Jindal’s is a good guy, just needs a bit more time to get ‘seasoned’. He’ll be running Louisiana for another 3.5 years, so he might as well calm down and settle in there.

Cruz/Jindal would be a stellar ticket!I can't thing of a more stomach-churning selection Cruz could make. Jindal brings absolutely nothing of benefit to the ticket and drags a lot of baggage with him.
To: BobL
Hell be running Louisiana for another 3.5 years, so he might as well calm down and settle in there. Sounds like the people of Louisiana aren't overly thrilled at that prospect.
