Amazing Pictures!
I watched the video of a bicyclist riding the ridge of Skye that was linked in one of the photos. Some people have no fear.

That too. I did landscape painting while in college in the early 80s. Later I became a geology major.

“Why in the world did my family leave such a beautiful country?”
My guess is that it would involve Cromwell, the English Civil War, and probably Ireland. Which is the case with a lot of us with Scots-Irish ancestry.

Fans of Scotland might want to check out the
Outlander TV Series on Startz.
It's set in the Highlands and explores the Jacobite rebellion in the 1740's. However, it's violent and the interaction between the two leads sometimes gets quite steamy.

Dunnottar Castle is situated in a dramatic setting on a cliff top near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire. The castle remains includes the keep, the barracks, lodgings, stables and storehouses, chapel and drawing room.
