When a CNN poll last week showed Hillary Clinton leading Rand Paul by a single percentage point(48-47)and only three points ahead of Marco Rubio(49-46)and Scott Walker(49-46), it was mildly shocking. In April, her lead over the three Republican presidential candidates had been in double digits:Paul(58-39), Rubio(55-41), and Walker(59-37).
But wait. If the next CNN survey shows Clinton actually behind one or two or three of the GOP candidates,it wont be just shocking. It will send Democrats into a near-panic over the possibility of losing the White House in 2016, even with their preferred candidate, Clinton,as nominee.
Such a poll result isnt far-fetched as we watch Clintons campaign deteriorate. True, head-to-head matchups this early in the presidential cycle are almost never predictive. But in this case, its the psychological impact that matters.
That Clintons candidacy is in trouble is indisputable. Shes not threatened with losing the Democratic nominationat least not yet. She has the well-financed Clinton machine and a national network of supporters on which she can rely. The campaigns of her Democratic opponents are small and weak in comparison.
But the rationale for her bid for the presidency, the strategy of her campaign, and the tactics shes adoptedall have failed to stop her steady decline. The expectation of Clintons glide into the White House in 2016 is gone.
...In place of a rationale, theres an assumption that her prominence, her résumé,and the likelihood of her becoming the first woman president would make her a uniquely appealing candidate. They havent. Shes a terrible candidate. She has not only failed to attract big crowds. Shes having trouble raising big money from those described by Politico as rich liberals.
The old adage that opposites attract may apply in her marriage.Bill Clinton is charming, has wonderful political instincts,is a compelling speaker, and has a common touch. She lacks all four. Also,Bill is dynamic. She is lifeless as a candidate...

The Republicans need someone of a type similar to General Grant. A man who isn’t afraid to fight, and pursues his advantage when he’s won.
An in-depth investigation into the Clinton Crime Family’s finances, unopposed by the Rats, will be the tool to get her to once again bow out ‘gracefully.’ But, oh, how the chins and lamps will fly.
She is not their preferred candidate. Warren/O'Malley is their preferred ticket. Hillary! just has more money and a bigger machine.
The Obama campaign ruined Hillary Clinton as a candidate, only they don’t want to admit it, and will go balls to the wall (other people’s balls, that is) to avoid admitting it.
Basically we have two parties where the tail wags the dog.
Lifeless? I've seen mannequins with more life. 😊
Now I know for certain that all the rancor comes out on Free Rebublic on Saturday Mornings.
What a senseless aggressive nasty statement.
I’m done with you.
Grant?
I’d rather see a Patton.
Put another way, patriarchal, condescending, attempts to bring along the womenfolk (and leave them holding the bag) after Obama and his A-Team have made all the important (and disastrously wrongheaded) decisions that are likely to be made for a very long time.
He has been polling badly against her, deer in the headlights Rubio about the best.
I do not believe the Democrats are panicking. They already have a plan in place. In fact, it was successfully employed in the 2012 election. By 2016, they will have even more of the glitches solved. The plan? Move enough Section 8s and illegals in to areas that have historically voted Conservative or Republican to at least neutralize their votes. And as time goes by, they will slowly augment these until they are a majority. I see this at work in Plant City. And It worked in Hillsborough County in 2014.
The old grey mare, she ain’t what she used to be.
Rode hard and put up wet.
Beat like a rented mule.
She’s just not likable or dynamic or at all appealing - she will not be President.....unless we nominate someone like Jeb.
Fred, we knew what his intentions were, but you and your DC media buddies ignored the obvious.
You started it.
From what I'm reading, much of the GOPe is beginning to understand that, quietly making Rubio their pick.
Both Walker and Cruz will have a tough time beating Rubio if Jeb pulls out early.
He's a bad candidate, I think we should keep encouraging him to run, so the mushy middle vote will be broken up.
Tactics. Think long. Like chess.
This photo doesn’t do justice to the bags under her eyes and her mean mouth as she screamed about Republicans not letting Blacks vote. There is nothing preventing live Blacks from voting, just the dead ones. If you have ID to get welfare and Obamacare, then you certainly have no problem with obtaining an ID, as this battered hag charged.
or a Christian that wouldn’t turn a car around in the parking lot of a store that sold beer
