Writing in the Washington Post, Sheldon Whitehouse, a Democratic Senator from Rhode Island, offered a curious suggestion for dealing with global warming skeptics - apply RICO laws and prosecute them.
Sure, right after you apply it to all the bullcrap spouted about Obamacare.
How many votes are needed for censure? Let the Rats defend this guy.
The should be careful what they ask for. RICO may be a good means to investigate the Warming proponents based on the tactics they’ve been using.
I love it when the mask slips and we find out who and what these people really are.
Hey Shelly! Why not just use Mein Kampf or the Communist Manifesto you Knuckledragging Neanderthal!
You know, that’s something I’ve thought about a lot over the course of the past few years. I received a number of mailings about things like this over 30 years ago and, at the time, thought “That’ll never happen here.” I was wrong...
Ironically, RICO would be more appropriately applied to the MMGW fanatics. They are the ones profiting from the organized scam.
The world Sheldon Whitehouse envisions.
So here we go... lets not only marginalize those who dont buy into the scam, lets prosecute them.
...and I ask, on what charge?
I have been watching Leftists long enough to realize that what is a nutball proposition today generally becomes official policy tomorrow.
Yup, see my post #17.
Once you set a precedent for something, you better be damned sure your opponants will never be in a position to use it against YOU. Now, admittedly, ol’ Sheldon may be thinking, like a lot of his Fascict Progressive fellow travellers, that his side has won and it’s game-over.
Heck, even talking about setting a precedent is dangerous these days. It was the GOP that came up with the nuclear option for judicial appointments. Backed down from pulling the trigger on it, but when the Dems did they could point to the idea of the GOP originating it. And now we have multiple stacked appeals courts as a result.
And here was have the Patriot Act problem and why laws like this need to be gutted. And before you jump on the Libtards (yeah they are an easy target) be assured that many GOPers are all aboard that fascist train as well.
RICO was passed for the sole purpose of catching the Mob. Now that is about 1% of RICO prosecutions. The Patriot Act was passed to catch and prosecute terrorists. Again, about 1% of it is used for that.
We need to clean out our own House before we stand a chance of fixing a Nation.
Yep, many of them regularly practice what would be insider trading for the rest of us. There’s a reason why plenty of those in Congress double or triple in net worth. Plus, I heard they have some luxurious residences in D.C. as well.
Chances are, they would, because the jury would likely rule in favor of AGW. Plus, you also have the issue of well, judge bias where the judge is in favor of AGW. In an ideal setting, where you could be sure of how the judges base their assumptions on what can be solidly proven, then you would be right. However, you can’t be so sure in today’s world.
Just the deficit spending is sufficient for me.
What size BROWN SHIRT does Sheldon wear?
In the 40’s he no doubt would have been helping folks to the “showers”.
He is beneath contempt.
