Diplomatic tensions surrounding disputed territories in the South China Sea could escalate dramatically following reports China is now putting weapons on its artificial islands in the area.
Australias defence force is considering joining the U.S. in flying and sailing freedom of navigation missions over the disputed territory, where China has been building islands by dragging sand from a reef and piling it up to create structures now being monitored by satellites.
Fairfax Media reports the Australian fly-over expeditions may occur as a result of heightened concerns that China is enhancing its military capabilities and reach across the maritime expanse.

China is surrounded by quite a few allies, formal and informal, some quite militarily powerful, some with large nuclear weapons forces, more with ABM defense systems. The situation now is why a large part of our own defense was moved to the area for a decade or so.
She’s bluffing.

Time for that DARPA weather machine to kick up a CAT 5 cyclone.

We won't do a damned thing ... not in THIS administration and I dare say ... not even Ted Cruz (though I'd want to THINK he would stop them)
I'll need to do more research on the ownership of the islands before I can intelligently comment on this
I know this, though ... the Philippines have been in the past and are now ... threatened.

Ever notice how the Free Republic Free Trade Army (Free Traitors for short) avoid the “Chinese hostilities likely” threads like the plague.
