The U.S. Capitol building was being evacuated after an audible alarm was sounded, U.S. Capitol Police said on Tuesday.
No other details were immediately available...

Out of curosity, what is the real story on that picture of the the Capitol building smoldering there? Looks to be in the late 1920’s?

Has the Patriot Act been suspended? That is good news.
Not to sound poetic, but the alarm has been sounding in the capital building since 2010.
This picture of the January 1930 fire at the Capitol Building shows firefighters in Washington DC battling the blaze. The damage was done, and some rooms on the House side were destroyed, namely the above artist’s studio. The Capitol Building was most famously set aflame in August of 1814, during the War of 1812, by the British in retaliation for similar American actions in Toronto.
