Yes this article is quite racist. I love the use of Wisconsin, a very white state. Public sector jobs in Wisconsin are much more likely to be white. Also, public sector spending is up not down. Maybe someone should look into where the money goes. Government union dues is not supposed to be a growth business.
You know how many idiots read the NY Times on Sunday with their coffee. They read it from front to back. So, on Monday I have to listen to this garbage. They can never critically evaluate what they read. They just take it at face value. I think every English teacher and HR manager is on their delivery list.

You can see the editor. He tells the writer, “you can’t say that all black people do is deliver mail, drive buses and guard prisons. Throw in something that sounds good like, managing large staffs. And put teach school first.”

Well, there are Federal, State, and Local government revenue. Assumed this article was mostly addressing jobs from State and Local governments. Unlike the Federal Government, those cannot just print $$.
Local taxes also go to ISIS.
Still too many parasites and free loaders on the public sector. All they do is steal from those that work and contribute to society. The deficit and overspending can not go on forever. Cause of this mess - government. And voters who do not understand, or do not want to understand what is happening to their nation.
Republicans should be embracing the shift. But they’re stuck in some kind early 1960s fog. They can state their principles quite nicely, but they lack the ability to formulate policy alternatives.

No mention of how many of the fewer jobs are at the federal, state , county and local level. Guess the NYT just couldn’t possibly obtain that data.
They'll just come up with another way to tax.

We have so many state, county, Federal governments and governmental agencies that cannot be all lumped together. Many are filled with hard working dedicated men and women. But then you have lots of deadwood and incompetent liberals, lebsbians and affirmative action babies employed by the Federal government. They do nothing productive but collect very nice paychecks.
Part of the reason the DC Federal Government is so incompetent these days is it has too many incompetent affirmative action types working. Not just blacks, but gays, Hispanics, females, Aleutian Islanders, Samoans and so on. I am kind joking here but the last person who will hired is a qualified white heterosexual male.
