I did not Sally Forth today - I was under the weather and slept in to a disgraceful hour. We had a nice day here as well - low 70's. We're supposed to go down to the 40's overnight.

LATE SCHUBERT PIANO PIECES

It’s in 3/8 and marked “allegro scherzando.” This one is technically difficult, and you have a lot of fun guessing the beat and time signature.

Schubert: Impromptu in F minor, D. 935/4

What is Sherzando?

PS I like Hayden better than Schubert.

Love Dvorak, Smetana, Barber, Williams.

It means "like a scherzo." Literally, "scherzo" means "joke" in Italian. It's usually three to a bar, rapid, and in A-B-A format.

LATE SCHUBERT PIANO PIECES

This is in 4/4 and marked “allegro molto moderato.” The opening section in C minor is dead serious, but he goes lyrical with the central section in A-flat. Schubert’s ability to spin great melodies is on display. The counterpoint will break your heart. The opening section returns with the rhythm of the central section. The A-flat section returns, but drastically truncated. He finishes with C minor section, but stated in C Major, one of his patented techniques.

Schubert: Impromptu in C minor, D. 899/1

Good evening, Sand....((HUGS))....I would love that list.

Just finished helping Mom with email. She typed a Reply, touched something, and lost it all. I couldn’t find it. She will have to start again...and seeing to type is hard for her with macular degeneration. Later I will proof read and send it for her.

How’s the shoulder and arm doing? Any bumping? Tweeking?

Good evening, Kathy....((HUGS)).....

The shoulder and arm are doing much better. No bumping, or Tweeking.

Still trying to get MrsSR to agree to my having a Bike with Heavy adult Traning Wheels and a bike Helmet. TBI worries in the way; at least I could get around independently to a couple of nearby places. No luck so far.
