Baltimore's mayor: Spike in crime 'disheartening'

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake called the city's recent spike in violence “disheartening” Thursday as police work to address a dramatic increase in homicides and nonfatal shootings.
“It’s extremely frustrating,” the mayor told reporters at a news conference. “It is disheartening, but I am still resolved to continue to reduce violent crime in our city.”

Eventually, even those people that voted for you will get tired of going to Saturday burial services. When these people get tired of burying their children every Saturday, maybe, by the time they’ve buried the 100th corps, they’ll begin to put the blame where the blame belongs, this mayor, and these city politicians.
