NEW LONDON, Conn. (Reuters) - Rising seas and thawing permafrost caused by warmer global temperatures threaten U.S. military bases and will change the way the U.S. armed services defend the country, President Barack Obama said on Wednesday.
In a commencement address at the United States Coast Guard Academy, Obama underscored the risks to national security posed by climate change, one of his top priorities for action in his remaining 19 months in office.
"The threat of a changing climate cuts to the very core of your service," Obama told the 224 graduating cadets, who studied the impacts of global warming as part of their curriculum.
"It will affect everything that you do in your careers," Obama added, noting that sea levels were expected to rise by 1 to 4 feet (30-120 cm) in the coming century.
The Pentagon is assessing the vulnerability to climate change of its 7,000 bases, installations and facilities, many of which are on the coast, the White House said.
Obama highlighted damage to the navy and air bases at Norfolk, Virginia, from increasing floods.

This isn't very scientific..but I live on the water. We have a seawall and a boat ramp. In the 20 years we've lived here, there hasn't been an inch difference in high tide water level.

I have absolute, total contempt for this Congress that they have allowed such scum as this puke to act as President for the past 6 years is utterly outrageous beyond all that is outrageous, absolute contempt for every last one of these dirtbags. They are all enemies of this country as far as I’m concerned. What have they done lately? Nothing. If some are so great then why aren’t they screaming 24/7 for this mofos impeachment? He is an ENEMY of the UNITED STATES! WHY isn’t he being REMOVED? This is like having Osama bin Laden as President! Imagine he was and Congress did nothing? It is the SAME THING.

Here's Tom Fife's article. “It was like an elastic band snapping all the way from 1992,” Fife shakily admitted, upon recall of the exact moment he realized the Communist official had been telling the truth. “It was a very, very scary feeling.”
Fife, a physicist and computer engineer, had been traveling to Russia for a joint venture with a state-owned company when the shocking revelation was revealed to him. After several business meetings, Fife and his partner were invited to the company owner’s home at the end of the journey for a farewell dinner.
The owner’s wife was a Communist Party official and was “climbing two ladders”, as Fife puts it, one ladder being the KGB and the other being the traditional Russian society and business ladder. As the evening wore on, the female Communist official became increasingly agitated over a perceived slight and her emotions spilled over.
“You Americans like to think you’re so perfect!” she snarled. “Well, what if I told you that very, very soon you’re going to have a black president… and he’s going to be a Communist!”
The KGB operative was not finished. As she had now dropped this bombshell on the entire gathering, she felt compelled to continue.
“His name is Barack,” she sneered. “His mother is white and his father is an African black. He has gone to the best schools, he is what you would call ‘Ivy League’.”
Fife recalls being stunned and shocked at the words flowing from the Communist’s mouth as she continued to rattle off an incredibly precise set of details about this Communist operative who was to supposedly become president of the United States.
The Communist official then stated that he was from Hawaii, but would very soon be elected to the Chicago state legislature. This has turned out to be an eerily prescient prediction, as Barack Obama was not elected State Senator until 1996, a full 4 years afterwards, as he took Alice Palmer’s seat.
In 1992, Obama had recently graduated from Harvard Law School and accepted a position as a Fellow at the University of Chicago Law School.
Perhaps the most shocking revelation is how deep the Soviet Communist network has embedded itself into American political and educational culture. A quick review of Obama’s political “career” shows a track that wasinexplicably greased, from his tuition payments at Columbia and Harvard, to a position at UOC Law School, to his eventual electoral “victories” at the Illinois State Senate, United States Senate, and U.S. Presidency.
Barack Obama’s parents ostensibly met in a Russian language class. This could have been where his mother was recruited by Barack Obama Sr, who could have already been working undercover for the KGB.
In order to brainwash the child from an early age, they surrounded him with diehard Communists and fellow KGB agents, such as Frank Marshall Davis, a known Communist Party USA official. The Soviet KGB directly funded the CPUSA. This would fit directly into what the Russian Communist said about ‘Barack’, boasting “He has been raised to be an atheist and a communist.”
“He will be a blessing for world communism,” Fife recalled her saying, after getting over the initial shock of hearing the current president was a KGB agent.
The creepy prediction stayed with the physicist upon his return to the United States, although he paid it no mind until he began to hear of an swiftly rising political star named Barack Obama. When Fife learned that this same Barack was running in the 2008 presidential election, everything snapped into place and he knew he had to tell someone.
Today, Fife admits that it deeply disturbs him and that he has never been able to shake the ominous feeling of foreboding about what comes next, now that the KGB official’s prediction has come true.
“It never leaves you, having someone tell you that they’ve engineered the takeover of your country,” he admits. “It’s really quite scary.”

But I never notice any specific solutions to solving this so-called catastrophic problem except stealing more money out of my wallet and redistributing it into his and his fellow elites' wallets. If this issue is so bad, what do these fear-mongers say they're going to do about it? Specifically. How do they intend to turn the momentum of climate change around and head it in the other direction without destroying our economy? How do they expect to alter Mother Nature to stop this problem from burning the planet up?
The answer is, they don't. Why? Because this is all a scam by the Left to destroy capitalism and institute their beloved socialism. That's their ultimate goal. But they can't come out and say that, so they cloud it in the speech of pseudo-science about CO2 levels rising, the seas warming and rising, the polar ice caps and glaciers melting and, of course, the poor polar bears dying off.
We've been told this crap for several decades now and none of the predictions and earth-ending timelines have ever proved to be true. Deadlines have come and gone and still nothing. For years we were warned that hurricane activity would increase dramatically but that hasn't panned out for these scammers. So this morning on The Weather Channel website, there is a video explaining how the increase in the number of hurricanes was not quite right but that now they would be more infrequent, but when they did form, they would be larger and more catastrophic than ever before. Gee, how convenient is that?
Trying to follow the logic and rationale of these Church of Climate Change parishioners is like trying to follow the name changes they have given this so-called problem over the last three decades, from global cooling to global warming to climate change to sometimes being called climate catastrophe lately. By simply attributing anything that happens in the world to climate change they have done the same thing the liberals have done with attributing any word in the dictionary as a dog-whistle words meaning racism.
So, until I see the Obamas stop jetting around the world six times a year on vacations, spewing tons of CO2 into the atmosphere or Al Dork doing his part by living in a modest home with a small carbon footprint to save the planet or John Kerry stops telling us that climate change and homosexuals rights are the top foreign policy priorities of the most powerful country of earth, I will continue to ignore their rhetoric and continue to recycle my aluminums cans like I've always done and wait for Florida to be covered in water like National Geographic predicting recently. I have my Muck boots and boat ready in waiting.
David Horowitz has put it best, "The issue [climate change] is never the issue. The issue is always the [socialist] revolution."
