To my knowledge the OT was first in universally condemning male homosexuality. If you are aware of an earlier condemnation, please cite it.
Though doing the same for lesbianism would have undermined male dominated polygamous marriage and concubinage prevalent at the time. It wasn’t until NT Romans 1:26 that lesbianism followed suit.
In older cultures males were omnisexual with a preference for human females. That is plain in the historical record of ancient Greece, Rome, and in present Moslem societies, especially Arab and Urdu. It is not considered “homosexuality” in those cultures unless the human female is shunned in favor of other males. It is/was, in fact considered normal in those cultures for young boys to be the sex objects of adult men until they are themselves adult men. Your discomfort with Judaeo-Christianity is curious. The “normalization” of pure homosexuality and pansexuality is being forced on modern Western Civilization now.
Or the conquest of an utterly enfeebled culture by a foreign entity and the imposition of the conqueror’s notions of morality on the survivors.
The “Green Place” essentially died as part of the ongoing natural catastrophe resulting from the war. It’s more subtle in this movie than it was in Thunderdome, but there was at least a limited nuclear exchange. Recall that once the main characters met up with the tribe of old women, they faced a 160 day ride across the Great Salt plain. The implication is that the oceans are gone, or nearly so. The planet is dying, and the Green Place is a victim of that. I don’t know what movie this Lopez guy was watching but it wasn’t the same one I saw. Seemed to me the ‘bad guy’ was a tyrant who had his followers believing he was some kind of a god.
One of the twinkies, or whatever Lopez called them, nickname was Nux, was sure trying to kick it with the redhead.

I, too, rebel against newspeak and refuse to call homosexuals “gay”— they are homosexuals or pervs. Ditto for leftists who are not “liberals” (a true liberal favors low government interference in economics) nor “progressive” (reverting to baby killing like the ancient pre-Christian Romans is not “progressive”)
