PHILADELPHIA (CBS) A transit train driver says he saw a trespasser on the tracks moments before an unknown object struck a window on the train.
The SEPTA train was struck on the same night and in close proximity to the Amtrak train that derailed on May 12th in Philadelphia.
According to SEPTA officials, the engineer saw a trespasser on the track moments before an unidentified object smashed a window.

So? Why does this matter? The train was still going twice the posted speed on a corner.
Social Justice at work.
SEPTA is not Amtrak. This is a different engineer.
Soon they will be reports of space aliens and flying saucers on the track. They are desperately trying to keep their protected and privileged one out of trouble. Don’t be surprised at what you hear next.
The crashed train, with the amnesiac homosexual engineer was AMTRAK.
This train is SEPTA ... local Philly commuter rail. They use some of the same tracks.
I thought he didn't remember anything...
Different driver, different train nearby.
This is a SEPTA engineer, not the Amtrack guy. But a rock/foreign object thrower on the tracks isn’t going to have the movement range someone on an overpass or pedestrian bridge will have. So that would limit the ability of the guy to roam around the area. Either the trains were all attacked within a few 100 feet along the tracks, or this is irrelevant.
So. A trespasser is the reason to speed up to 100 MPH. This is diversionist BS.
Yet, stupid and as inapplicable as it is, it has diverted someone from the central them of the derailment. ONE HUNDRED MILES PER HOUR>
It’s North Philadelphia! There’s all kinds of bums walking around by the tracks. Kids too. It’s not unusual to see someone.
And just to add to my previous post, I’ve been on this route frequently enough. It’s not unusual for trains to craaaaaaaaaaaaaaawl through North PHiladelphia. I always assumed they did that because there might be a bum sleeping on the tracks.
Wrong train.
This report is from a different engineer and not the one you’re referring to. Two different trains, two different engineers.
Smoke and mirrors. Anything to draw the attention away from why the gay engineer was going more than twice the speed limit.
True. We have a long way to go to connect any object throwing to the excessive speed of the Amtrak train. So far, there’s no connection.
...was wearing a Tea Party t-shirt, in black-face and spit at the engineer...next?
I think this whole object striking the windshield is just a red herring. The most obvious cause, given the facts of excessive speed we do know, it that the engineer was either hung over or texting and not paying attention. By the time he looked up it was too late.
