So? Why does this matter? The train was still going twice the posted speed on a corner.
Smoke and mirrors. Anything to draw the attention away from why the gay engineer was going more than twice the speed limit.
True. We have a long way to go to connect any object throwing to the excessive speed of the Amtrak train. So far, there’s no connection.
It matters not at all. Trying to shift the blame away from the engineer who was exercising questionable judgment at the moment, because this may have “distracted” him, does not alter the outcome.
The time span between the “distracted moment” and the derailment had to have been exceeded, even accelerating the locomotive at its most extreme maximum.
Only scenario that would make sense is if the object came through the window and struck the driver on the head thus rendering him unconscious etc...(he said he didn’t remember anything)..and his limp body caused his leg to press more on the accelerator, so by the time the train got to the next corner it was doing the 106 ...
However although there is suppose to be a crack, there is no big hole or most of the window gone..
