This is a massive betrayal of Israel and all free people, and an endorsement of the genocidal Palestinian jihad against the Jews. A State of Palestine will no more bring peace than did the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza: just as with Gaza, a State of Palestine will just become another jihad base.
The Vatican has every reason to know that. The Palestinians on their official media outlets make no secret of their goal of wiping out Israel and killing Jews wholesale. Now the Vatican has signed on to that.
The Vatican said it would soon sign its first treaty with the State of Palestine, lending legal weight to a recognition it has extended for more than two years and drawing swift criticism from Israel. The Holy See has had diplomatic relations with the Palestinians since 1994, and has referred to the State of Palestine in official documents since the United Nations admitted a Palestinian nonmember observer state in 2012.
The agreement announced Wednesday, which a joint Vatican-Palestinian statement said will be signed in the near future, is the result of talks that began in 2000. It comes four days before Pope Francis canonizes two Palestinian saints in St. Peters Square. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to attend the ceremony.
The treatys text wasnt released, but Msgr. Antoine Camilleri, the Holy Sees chief negotiator with the Palestinians, told the Vatican-run newspaper the accord covers the activities and legal status of the Catholic Church in the Palestinian Territories. A very elaborate and detailed section deals with religious freedom and freedom of conscience, Msgr. Camilleri said. Other sections deal with property and tax questions, as well as the scope of Catholic media and charitable activities.
Msgr. Camilleri voiced hope other Muslim-majority countries would follow the Palestinian example of recognizing the religious freedom of Christians and other minorities. He said he also hoped the deal would help, if only in an indirect way, to promote the recognition of Palestinian statehood and the realization of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Israel decried the recognition. Israel was disappointed to hear of the Holy Sees decision to agree to the final version of the agreement with the Palestinians, said Israels foreign ministry. This does not promote the peace process and a Palestinian return to the negotiations.
Israel will study the agreement and consider its next steps accordingly. In Washington, Obama administration officials were reserved in their reaction to the Vatican move, refraining from offering any criticism or expressing disappointment. Instead, State Department spokesman Jeff Rathke reiterated the U.S. position that Palestinian statehood must result from negotiations with Israel, and not be imposed by outside nations or international institutions.
Israel has been on the defensive diplomatically, as the Palestinians push state recognition in international organizations. Israeli diplomats and experts expect international pressure on the country to rise in response to concerns Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus new conservative government wont promote a two-state solution. His coalition partner Jewish Home calls for the annexation of 60% of the West Bank.
The U.S. generally defends Israel from outside pressure. But that stance has been shifting in recent months. During the height of friction between the U.S. and Israeli governments over Mr. Netanyahus March address to the U.S. Congress, the White House signaled a possible change, saying it might not reject U.N. demands for a settlement of differences between the two sides.
Palestinian officials said the pending Vatican agreement was another example of solidifying international support for recognizing that the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem constitute a sovereign state under occupation by Israel, territories Israel considers disputed.
Its recognition that Palestinians are acting on their commitment to the two-state solution, while Israel is deliberately destroying it, said Hanan Ashrawi, a senior official in the Palestine Liberation Organization. We look at the Vatican recognition as having more than just diplomatic significance. It also has symbolic and moral significance.
“Pope Pawn I”
So now he’s pro muslim, pro homosexual, pro socialist and
absolutely anti capitalist. Just exactly what is this pawn
pope of?
It appears that Popo Francis is doing more damage to the Church than the Legions of Homosexual Priests who attacked and destroyed Catholic Children.
This is truly unbelieveable, Maybe the end is at hand ???
Friend, your typology is upside down. Israel is the older brother.

Pam Geller’s playing American evangelicals for chumps. Their eschatological fascination with a foreign country is politically useful, and she’s happy to feed their fantasies. Who funds her foundation?
The Church of Jesus Christ is the new and everlasting Israel. That much is clear.
Catholics and Jews need to recognize Islam is the ENEMY.
The Vatican is guilty of placing the security interests of Israeli Christians in the claws of the scorpion.
This has happened before:

...In the seventh century, the Arabs embarked on the conquest of the world in the name of Islam. The Caliphate replaced the Persian Empire and Christian Spain and conquered much of the Byzantine Empire. The latter, however, seemed to ignore the threat of the new invaders and their religion. Instead, the Byzantine political and intellectual elite focused increasingly on the Jews in tracts and legal measures. The situation has certain parallels with the present...
Anything signed by such a regime will be meaningless taqiyya anyway.
One can know what this last pope will do based upon Bible prophecies. He is the last pope and the one who aids and abets the antichrist.
Who was born second holding onto his brother’s heel?
“Msgr. Camilleri voiced hope other Muslim-majority countries would follow the Palestinian example of recognizing the religious freedom of Christians and other minorities.”
Unreal stupidity. Those ragheads are killing off Christians and we bow down to those bastards??
NO. The POPE is jumping into bed with terrorists. The CHURCH will try to continue to teach the Truth.
the “Whore of Babalon” ?
How much more can a thinking catholic take? As if you needed anymore evidence of the evil of placing a man on the throne that belongs only to The Lord Jesus Christ.
I’m Catholic but this Pope was a big mistake. I believe he probably is a Marxist and a tool of the UN. Its just too bad. But he’s old and probably won’t be around long. Then we will get a new and better Pope.
Francis and Obama are birds of a feather with convergent goals.
Pope Francis, before going to the Middle East , called himself the Che Guevara of the Palestine people, a flabbergasting affirmation to identify with and to use El Che as model and inspiration, a mass murderer and genocide of the Cuban people.
POPE CRACKHEAD
In the 40's, the Catholic Church had a concordat with Hitler. Apparently, agreements with evil are not a problem. Obeying God appears to be the problem. Don't be yoked to evil.
Somebody please explain to me how the Vatican can sign a treaty with a place that does not exist? At least it seems to not exist. I have consulted several world maps and several maps specific to the Middle East. I can’t find the “State of Palestine” on any of them.
The closest I can come is an area of Israel supposedly claimed by the “Palestinians.” This is doubly confusing. If there is no country of Palestine, how can there be people claiming to be Palestinians?

The Vatican is a sovereign nation. The Pope could sign a treaty with Mars, or any entity, but the treaty is binding on no one outside the Vatican.
