Peyton Robinson said he got the bad news from a school administrator Wednesday morning.
The 18-year-old senior at York Comprehensive High School was told he wasnt allowed to fly his American flag and POW-MIA flag in the bed of his pickup truck.

So Robinson hit his Facebook page Wednesday and let everybody know what was happening and fellow students quickly took up the cause, driving back to school that night with flags flying from their vehicles.
Ill keep fighting, Robinson told WSOC Wednesday night. Im not letting it go; I wont go down without a fight.
Students also vowed to fly flags Thursday morning at school in solidarity with Robinson and more than 70 vehicles equipped with waving flags pulled into the school parking lot.
A crowd stood on the roadside and cheered them on, and what appeared to be a group of veterans saluted at the schools entrance as they rode in.

Two points:
It was fun to read how the superintendent’s initial response to the massive show of support for the flag was, “I”m going to order all of them to remove those flags!!” Two hours later he folded up like an accordion. Sweet.
More ominous is the possibility that the original complaint came from local muzzies. There is an “Islamberg” compound in York County, SC, complete with AK-47 gunfire echoing in the woods and bearded jihadis showing up at the Lowe’s in town. The local sheriff & state law enforcement division have so far done nothing.
Wow. Interesting.
That makes it even WORSE, in my book
Agreed.
What's that old line....
Those that do....do
Those that can't do ....teach
Those that can't teach ....administrate.
The flag reflects patriotism. Patriotism, the real kind, is the purview of the Right. Since all things the Right believes are controversial they must be removed from view.
This is what leftists believe.
Thanks!
Do [sic] to the outstanding display of patriotism through peaceful demonstration, it is apparent to us that many are not happy about this policy, the school said in a statement...”
Really?? These ignorant a##es used the word “do” here? And they’re supposed to be in education?? And they also think they can “legislate” outside of their little school walls and dictate how people will live?
I’d hardly expect this reaction to the American flag in SC, but...the times they are a changing.
Or fly the hammer and sickle.
Uhuh, then why claim it was a safety issue? That’s the same kind of BS a school used to keep American kids from wearing shirts with the American Flag on them. If the issue was being disrespectful they should have said that. Funny though, so many people accept the defilement and destruction of the American Flag as free speech, but flying it from your truck doesn’t merit the same protection.
Whats to bet a few of the veterans who stood outside the school entrance and saluted as the flags went by happened to go into the superintendent's office?
"You best allow those kids to fly those flags or you're gonna get more trouble than you've EVER thought of!"
Imagine calling out three or four states worth of Patriot Guard riders to escort them...ALL with American flags?
Peyton, you are witnessing liberalism. You and the fellow students can help fight liberalism by voting for conservatives. You are the future of America, the flag represents freedom that veterans fought for. You are in a fight for the freedom to fly your flag on school property.
You’re more than welcome.
Me too!
He's angling for a college gig.

To be clear: Kudos to his correction of the 'policy'. But it should never have happened; it started as 'offensive'. AND the slime that unbolted the flag from the student's truck should be fired.
So, as I mentioned, it is beginning to appear the s.o. is likely an anti-American liberal.
The good news is the student body and other members of the community didn't tolerate the abridgment and took a very public stand. Further, if the s.o. actually did dismantle the flag standard apparatus on the student's vehicle, then he ought to be facing at least a criminal misdemeanor charge.
After that, the locals might fund a civil lawsuit brought by the student naming the s.o. in his individual capacity. I doubt he has immunity for his criminal actions.
