Its a dignity thing democracy is threatened by racism and poverty.
The two seminal pieces of Legislation in the 20th century happened just before the tumult of 1968the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and the Voting Rights Act in 1965. Fifty years later, we ought to be in a season of celebration. Instead, we find ourselves in an American catastrophe. Trayvon Martin. Eric Garner. Freddie Gray.
On April 4, 1967, Martin Luther King Jr. gave the most controversial speech of his life, Beyond Vietnam. A year later to the day, almost to the hour, he was assassinated. In that speech he had pointed out a triple threat facing America: racism, poverty and militarism. In 2015, what are the issues still threatening our democracy? Racism. Poverty. Militarism.
Kings views about how to redeem the soul of America had fallen on deaf ears. The younger generation wanted something more tangible than nonviolence. When Magnificent Montague, one of the most well-known black radio hosts in Los Angeles, used the phrase Burn, baby, burn, that resonated. 1968 was also the year of the Mexico City Olympics, when Tommie Smith and John Carlos held up their fists with the black gloves. The young people were chanting, Black power!(continued)

People are missing the point. If riots are successful in attaining the goals of making the police back down and getting politicians to agree to black demands, there will be many more of them. There are professional agitators with big money backers (think SEIU and Soros) who seek to tear down the system. Thus far they have been more successful than they could have imagined.
The easy answer to your question is NO!!! You must be willing to cough up more....a lot more. Because all the trillions already thrown at the problem have worked so well. /s
“Thus far they have been more successful than they could have imagined.”
You’re wrong. You can’t just read the left-wing press and assume that’s reality. There’s a thousand political brushfires burning across America that the fascist federal government can’t tamp out.
The mercenary federal fascist bureaucracy needs cooperation from the states to carry out its fascist agenda, and they’re not getting it.
“Youre wrong. You cant just read the left-wing press and assume thats reality. Theres a thousand political brushfires burning across America that the fascist federal government cant tamp out.”
Sure. You just keep whistling past that graveyard.
You are correct. Slugs like Smiley could never "succeed" without the money from wealthy white lib benefactors.
It's nutty white libs who have to be convinced about the futility of keeping on feeding the grievance industry. These white dopes really believe the angry blacks are on their side. They'd find out real quick in a shooting war that they're not.

The blacks are not the real driver here, they are only pawns who are useful in that they are victims who cannot be criticized. The brains behind this are white leftists/anarchists from out of town who agitate the ignorant ghetto dwellers.
The payouts will NEVER be enough. More always wants more as long as it’s free.
Dignity? Try ‘earned success’ that capitalism would deliver. ‘Find a need and fill it’- it’s that simple. Hard work but simple idea. But They reject capitalism for collectivism and look where they exist A Cargo Cult waiting for magical results.
Does this tavis thing live in a black neighborhood or in a “white privilege” neighborhood? The leftist is such a tool.
Obama is very unpopular, they know it. They need a distraction. All liberals are violent thugs.
Trayvon was a thug.
Mike Brown was a thug.
Freddie Gray was a drug dealer and probable thug. There are no gentle drug dealers. Not where Freddie lives.
I don’t cry for thugs - of ANY color. I am happy when they are dealt with because society is safer because they are gone. Trayvon was a burglar and ganster thug. Mike Brown was a thug raised by parents who were gang thugs. Reality is an eye-opener.
“Sure. You just keep whistling past that graveyard.”
The fact that you identify yourself with a liberal sh*thole like Brooklyn, tells me that your perception of reality is off kilter.
I suggest that you remove yourself from that left wing NYC garbage pit and acquaint yourself with some real men.
For example:
Union cancels Boeing vote, claiming gun-toting (South Carolina) workers told it to take off
“The fact that you identify yourself with a liberal sh*thole like Brooklyn, tells me that your perception of reality is off kilter. I suggest that you remove yourself from that left wing NYC garbage pit and acquaint yourself with some real men.”
Next time try addressing the issue instead of attacking a screen name. And FYI, when working in a retail store in Brooklyn 40 years ago my friends, co-workers and I told some union organizers to Go F themselves. That’s a reality you can shove off your kilter.
“when working in a retail store in Brooklyn 40 years ago my friends, co-workers and I told some union organizers to Go F themselves.”
Good for you.
I agree with him, to a point.
This is the voice of a victimized and powerless people. The facts don’t matter as much as the desperation to be heard.
I agree.
The problem, the oppressor however, isn’t the police. It’s the social welfare state that has sent the message to four successive generations of inner city males to become incarcerated or die. Your life doesn’t matter. Uncle Daddy will raise your childen.
“Black male lives don’t matter.” Signed Uncle Daddy and his liberal democrat accomplices.
Burn it all to the ground. Your life STILL doesn’t matter and Uncle Daddy will STILL raise your children. Wanna another blunt?
Could hell, it already has.
I can see more protests & rioting, not only among the blacks but among the millennial spawn of the white, middle-class liberals after simply being told “no.” Having grown up amoral & entitled, they are angry at the real world & trying desperately to fit a square peg into a round hole. (I would even include ISIS, which attracts a lot of bored, spoiled kids.) They’re upset that they can’t have their way or that life can’t be the way they want it to be.
Yup, I've had conversations with my neighbors about what we would do if the "scumbags" attempt to invade our neighborhood. A couple are ex-grunts and get the "box canyon". We also have plans for the "common areas" behind our homes and much much more, including cutting our cul-de-sac off at the beginning of the street and having armed sentries standing by.
I will not allow those who would attack my home/wife to try without massive resistance. I will gladly use my Federal and California legal arms to kill them.
Can there be any other better way to die than protecting your loved ones? Bring it Tavis...you and your ilk don't have the balls.
Thank you Sarge for making that point. The States are getting fed-up with the Fedgov ignoring the 10th Amendment. If you look up the history of VetsCoR (Veterans for Constitutional Restoration), you will see that States' Rights was always at the fore-front of our Mission.
As I look back on VetsCoR's efforts, it's apparent that it was ahead of its time.
Oops, that should have said, "...tolerant...". Sure you got the meaning anyway.
“What happens the day the EBT doesnt work anymore and theres no money?”
They kill each other off trying to get food and when that resource dries up, so do they, stuck in their concrete jungles.
