Driver Charged With Freddie Gray’s Murder Claims He Pleaded, But Is Still Haunted Every Night

The evolving narrative in Baltimore received a new wrinkle today when all 6 officers involved in the death of Freddie Gray were arrested and charged, to varying degrees, with murder.

The driver of the police van in which Gray sustained the injuries that ultimately led to his death faces the most jail-time, however.

Caesar Goodson is being charged with “second-degree ‘depraved heart murder.” He is the only officer involved in the incident to receive the charge.

However, a source close to the Goodson family has said that the officer repeatedly insisted that his fellow officers in the van restrain Gray—pleas that went unheeded.

This, ultimately, led to Gray’s death; medical examiners recently announced that he died from head injuries suffered while in transit. Prisoners are supposed to be restrained in order to protect against unnecessary rattling which, as in this case, can lead to serious injury.

The unnamed source and friend of the Goodson family spoke to Daily Mail UK:

“When he became irate Caesar called in and said ‘you have got to restrain him.’ That’s on the audio,” he said.

“They did, they restrained his legs. But when they did that they still should have put him in the seat belt.”

Its a total zoo because nobody wants to tell the truth. I’m a very conservative christian. I’m in maybe the reddest county of the reddest state in the country. Aside from some of the freepers here, Hannity, and maybe Rush..... I don’t know anyone who believes the cops story, that the guy broke his own neck by intentionally banging his head on the walls of the van. Not one person I know believes that.

I could see leaving him on the floor if he was acting up. I would assume he would be safe down there. There wasn’t much room to get hurt, since each side is less than half a van width. If the driver slammed on the brakes or something, he could have gotten hurt, but there’s no indication that he did that.

So I’m still waiting for the medical records and hearing from the van witness who could heard Gray.

He can try to blame others all he wants but he was still the driver. He could have pulled over and strapped him in himself. I’m not saying I think the charge is fair. I’m just saying if his strategy is to blame others, it won’t work. No one had a gun to his head while he was driving.

Instead of endless stupid speculation ginned up by the media. The way we should be politically responding to this and that includes conservative news commentary (what there is of it) and the talk show circut is by asking this question.

If drug dealer Gray was shot dead as a result of a bad drug deal would we be hearing about him and would there be be rioting in the streets ?

I’d suspect any judge worth his salt would grant defense motion for a change of venue. However, I have no way of knowing if there is such a judge in Baltimore.

I agree. This is probably just a family member trying to protect their own. I heard he is the only one that has not given a statement. If he tries to blame others, it will be obvious that he could have tried strapping him in himself. He continues on the route and even picked up another person. So he evidently didn't think Freddie was in any danger.

I don't think his attorney is going to fall for this obvious ploy by the prosecutor to divide and conquer. She wants to get the white cops especially so she can race bait, and it isn't working out for her.

In Baltimore, taxpayers are currently spending $16,578 per year for each pupil in the city’s public schools. Not only is this 48% more than the national average of $10,608, but it’s more than any other country on the face of the earth spends on public education.

Nationwide according to the FBI in 2011, 193 blacks were killed by whites, 448 White killed by Blacks while 2,447 blacks were killed by blacks. That is 2.3 times more whites killed by blacks than the other way around despite the fact that there’s six times as many whites in this country.

Do Black lives really matter? How many of the parents of Blacks murdered by Blacks received a call of Obama or send his personal representative to the funeral? Did our condolences in chief has ever called the parents of so many Whites killed by Blacks?

Not holding back one bit. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke says O is “quietly enjoying” what’s going on in Baltimore because he’s a ‘promoter of division’ and has ‘benefitted politically’ from ‘dividing’ people.

Sheriff Clarke points out all the times President Obama has pitted one group of Americans against another. He also questions why Obama didn’t come out and speak about the Baltimore riots earlier. He was interviewed here on the Mark Levin Show
