I know. Stories and leaks are flying. Once legal representation takes over, then these wild theories should be reduced considerably.
They stopped the guy for having a legal folding knife.
It is liberal federal policies frothing at the mout at anyone black or white for having a weapon or smoking that killed him.
The cops were just doing what the DOJ politicaly correct orders told them to do in sensitivity training classes.
Why are you defending these cops? Bad cops, wherever they are found, need to be singled out, charged, and convicted. And, yes, if they killed someone, executed.
Due process matters.
Evidence matters.
Innocent until proven guilty matters.
You ask me why I am defending these cops?
The answer is because I just spoke with a person who said that these cops should be executed.
Like I said, I fear you more than I fear police.
No! You missed the point and changed the circumstance of my response to that other poster. If you are going to break into a back and forth between two posters, don’t change the context!!
Amazing that they managed to get Darren Wilson's photo on the internet soon after the incident with Brown, but photos of the cops in the Freddie Gray case are non-existent.
So you know for a fact that the cops gave Freddie a nickel ride.
Don't be silly. You don't know if that happened and I don't know if that happened.
The first defense motion will be for a change of venue.
They found the knife after he ran and they caught him.
No! your points are silly!!
We all know school buses, and we were not handcuffed with our hands behind us.
I didn’t say they did, read the post again.
...and of course this prosecutor is working diligently to identify, arrest and prosecute the arsonists, vandals and those who threw chunks of concrete (assault with a deadly weapon). Right.
The city of Baltimore has made a conscious push to keep folks out of prison for crimes... they cut the incarceration rate almost in half in 5 years. As one would expect, this has increased the crime rate (real crime rate... not stats based on convictions). Other cities are doing the same thing.
“I dont believe true justice can be had with a hack like that prosecuting. If I were on the jury, I would be half inclined to aquit the officers just based on her bad attitude alone.”
jury nullification?
Be afraid. Murder is murder and the result should be execution or life-long incarceration. That they are/were police officers, they should be held to higher standard, especially as their actions occurred while in uniform.
Yes, they should. Without zero tolerance all they do is facilitate and encourage lawless behavior. I wonder if the mayor can be charged with dereliction for ordering stand down to allow rioters to destroy the community?
I am afraid. Very, very afraid.
Frankly, if I was a police officer, I’d be looking for a new career right now.
Baltimore County racial makeup for juries..
Demographics:
Black or African American alone, percent, 2013 (a) 27.5%
<><><
The trial will not be held in Baltimore County, as the incident occurred in Baltimore city, which is an entirely separate jurisdiction.
The city is 63% african american.
I used to think that way, then came my nephew-in-law. Turns out if you keep everything you get arrested for really minor you can spend a lot of time in the back of cop cars and very little actually in jail.
Oh yeah sure!
Cuffed Perps should be belted in.
But no seat belts for little kids who can't even put their feet squarely on the ground, who don't have long enough arms to reach forward, who aren't experienced enough to brace themselves for a crash and who are a smaller, lighter and a lot more fragile than grownups perps.
For you to think of the unique problems of a cuffed perp in a van but not the unique problems of little kids on a school bus shows your bias against cops is effecting your point-of-view.
