UPDATE: The implementation of Barack Obama's takeover of the Internet is less than 45 days away. And as Marsha Blackburn says, if Congress does not take action to stop Barack Obama, the government will "control the Internet" in a little over the month.
Make no mistake, the Internet as you know it will never be the same if we let Barack Obama implement this takeover. You'll pay more for less service and the government will use this draconian ruling as a club to bludgeon Internet freedom, including ultimately your free speech.
And if you think we exaggerate, consider what Rep. Marsha Blackburn says on the matter: "Once the federal government establishes a foothold into managing how Internet service providers run their networks they will essentially be deciding which content goes first, second, third, OR NOT AT ALL."

Why would the Republican majorities in the House and Senate try to fix this, this is something obama wants, they deny him nothing. Our 50 or so Conservatives in the House and 18 or so in the Senate need help. We need to send Henry Ross to Washington in the MS CD 01 Special Election, Louie Gohmert and Marsha Blackburn need another ally in the House.
My guess is because they think most of the country isn't interested. It's up to us to show them we care.
I confess that my personal perspective on this is that worrying about how it will affect our lives in two years is akin to a German in 1944 worrying about how Hitler’s new law is going to affect them in 1947.
It will get much worse before the Lord’s return, which is obviously imminent. Sanity has left the world, much as it had in 1939, only a hundred times worse. There will be no “easy” way out of this.
We will all be forced with very personally difficult decisions over the next few years and the difficulty will grow exponentially.
Very sad situation. I guess it is going to become worse as our internet gets even more cost prohibited. Once they put the data limits on our computers it will be over. Everyone is getting rid of cable to watch Netflix and other things will have a hard time watching their shows because the data is eaten up so much. It is going to get so ugly. And meanwhile the rest of the World continues to pay 30 dollars month for the fast internet speed and unlimited data.....Ugh! Yes we are free.....
My guess is its because they are fine with net neutrality and happy to let the Dems take the heat for it. Just like they are fine with amnesty and happy to let Barky take the heat for that.
the federal government cannot stop ‘thought’, unless they stop every sale of every piece of blank paper, notebooks, journals, pens -and refills, and confiscate every such item, in every such home, in person, to include every book that has already been published, and is in some American’s possession.
News? the stories about ‘Aunt Jan’s farm’ will rise again.
Free Republic will be the FCC’s first target.
Think about how well thought and information is controlled in the repressive countries we have learned about in history and the ones Obama so admires.
“The Net Neutrality issue has people speaking past each other like no other current issue. The idea is to prevent ISPs from taking backroom payoffs from content providers to block their competitors.”
So an internet feed for a self driving car should have the same priority as email? Why shouldn’t’ they pay for a fast lane?
You are proceeding from the assumption that the GOPe would do such a disloyal thing to Your Lord And Savior, The Obama, The Messiah, the Won...
“We have the worst internet speed and most expensive in the World. Why dont we have 30 dollar highest speed internet like the rest of the World. Yes I know we like to think we have it the best but sometimes I wouldnt mind following what the rest of the World does regarding internet.”
You’re nationalizing ISP’s and expect better service?
Are you sure you’re posting on the right website?
“Didnt NN always exist in some form up until recently?”
No.
“Im scared the end of result of its absence will be the Internet becoming like Cable is now: choose Comcast for amazon.com, choose Time Warner for barnesandnoble.com...”
The solution to that is competition, not government regulation.
“. Why dont we have 30 dollar highest speed internet like the rest of the World.
We have crony capitalism in which the right of service is granted to a monopoly or oligopoly licensed by the government. These companies then limit services to bundles in order to extract maximum revenue from captive customers.
In other nations the government provides the service or mandates service and pricing.
Comcast, Time Warner, ATT, Verizon and a few others have successfully blocked competition for internet services through the regulatory process and substantial political contributions.”
Which the Federal government will now make permanent.
Exactly my sentiments as well. We did stop him last November. The people we voted in decided to ignore us thereafter. Phone calls and emails are meaningless now. It’s just a matter of “when” the implosion is coming now, not “if”. But that’s okay, it’s all going according to God’s plan. He is in control. Never forget that.
It's NOT okay! What defeatist drivel. When rape is inevitable, we should all lay back and enjoy it, I suppose.
God also gave us free will, brains and plenty of energy to utilize and make plans.
Keep up the good fight, guys and gals, keep those calls and letters going. We're not here on FR just to post amorphous words to each other.
When the going gets tough......

From everything I’ve seen of the RINO GOP leadership in both the house and Senate don’t expect any push back/action from those pseudo-dems! Just think back to our great November election and what did we get? Why Obama’s agenda fully implemented and FUNDed until September!
“Begin?” (Where has their discernment radar been for years?)
