GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida suspended one of its fraternities on Friday after allegations that its members hurled drunken insults and spat at a group of disabled military veterans at a Panama City Beach resort.
The school said on Friday that it is charging the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity with obscene behavior, public intoxication, theft, causing physical or other harm, and damage to property.
The suspension came after the fraternity had already suspended operations itself and expelled three of its members after finding they had behaved inappropriately.
"I am personally offended and disappointed by the behavior that has been described to me," Dave Kratzer, the school's student affairs vice president and retired U.S. Army major general, said in a statement.
The situation occurred while the fraternity and veterans with the Warrior Beach Retreat were at the Laketown Wharf Resort last weekend. The veterans were there for an annual retreat meant to honor their service, and the fraternity had a social function.

You get no argument from me. Actually, After being “victimized” by Boston University to the tune of $200,000 for a worthless “music education” for our youngest daughter (who now works for a general contractor as an admin), I have come to the conclusion that “post secondary education” is just like the “public schools” in that it serves only the interests of the faculty and administrators. The “professors” work (if you can call it that) for six to eight months out of the year, then they “retire” to their summer places in Europe and elsewhere and spend their ill-gotten gain. And who is behind all of this, our beloved government with “student loans” that enslave those who get them for many years for an “education” that serves no useful purpose in many instances.
They should be suspended...with ropes.

So SCUMBAGS assaulted American HEROS- Sad to see the ignorance of youth these days. These maggots should be expelled AND made to publicly apologize AND be forced to work 20 hours or more for the veterans AND they should be forced to go to anger management therapy!

It’s funny that this isn’t considered a HATE crime- Yet let a heterosexual spit at a gay person and it’s an immediate case of Hate crime- Did these students ‘love’ the people they were spitting at? NOPE! They HATED them and expressed their HATRED! Thus this should be tried as a HATE CRIME!

EXACTLY- Connecticut posted the addresses of everyone in their state (or maybe it was just a few districts, I forget) who owned guns after the school shooting knowing they were putting lives at risk- (apparently hoping those gun owners would be attacked) Seems turnabout it fait play
I don’t blame the Greek system or ZBT fraternity for what happened. The idiots that did it are responsible and I am glad they were kicked out of their fraternity.

Can we apply the same standards to all groups now assigned to fraternities? One person acts like an idiot, they are responsible. Not 100 other people. We’ve lost individual responsibility in this nation.
As far as the education being useless, probably not. When your daughter settles down somewhere, it will give her wonderful opportunities to get involved in community and church-related activities.

The wild orgies called spring break should be banned. Nothing good ever comes of these things. People get raped, robbed, assaulted, sick, etc. Why does anyone think these are a good idea?
College has become somewhat of a joke. It seems the main reason many kids go to college is to get drunk and have sex. They have no clue what they are doing there.
Panama City Beach is a separate municipality from Panama City. While a few very large "clubs" have profited from Spring Break, most businesses have suffered because of rampant theft and vandalism, or because they wisely closed to avoid further loss. What was once manageable has turned to intolerable anarchy, especially since large packs of lawless Democrat predators now flock there to sleep in their cars, use the ground as their bathroom, steal, and prey upon all the drunk white college girls. And now Freaknik has descended on PCB after being run off from Atlanta and Daytona Beach. Bay County is a very Conservative jurisdiction with an excellent sheriff and good judges; local citizens and their leaders have had enough and will act to drive these out-of-control events elsewhere.
