[Admin note] Title and text changed at source. New title: "Ted Cruz Is Guest of Two Gay Businessmen"Senator Ted Cruz, the Republican presidential candidate, has positioned himself as a strong opponent to same-sex marriage, urging pastors nationwide to preach in support of marriage as an institution between a man and a woman, which he said was ordained by God.
But on Wednesday night, at a reception for him at the Manhattan apartment of two prominent gay hoteliers, the Texas senator struck quite a different tone.
During the gathering, according to two attendees, Mr. Cruz said he would have no problem if one of his daughters was gay. He did not mention his opposition to same-sex marriage, saying only that marriage is an issue that should be left to the states.
The dinner and fireside chat for about a dozen people with Mr. Cruz and his wife, Heidi, was at the Central Park South penthouse of Mati Weiderpass and Ian Reisner, longtime business partners who were once a couple and who have been pioneers in the gay hospitality industry.
Ted Cruz said, If one of my daughters was gay, I would love them just as much, recalled Mr. Reisner, a same-sex marriage proponent who described himself as simply an attendee at Mr. Weiderpasss event.
Mr. Reisner and Kalman Sporn, who advises Mr. Cruzs Middle East team and served as the moderator for the evening, said that the senator told the group that marriage should be left up to the states.
He did not bring up his own opposition to same-sex marriage during the evening, which focused mainly on foreign policy.
An aide to Mr. Cruz, reached on Thursday, reiterated that the senator is opposed to same-sex marriage.
Mr. Cruz has honed his reputation as a grassroots firebrand, who was strongly supportive of the Indiana religious freedom law that was recently blasted as discriminatory by gay rights activists. [snip]

The only reason why I can laugh is because, been there, done that, tested by fire.
It’s a standard affair here on FR to sometimes post without reading a article, misplled words, or no sarcasm tags, it happens..
Heh, yeah, I hear you. Sometimes I don’t thinking it’s quite obvious that I’m being sarcastic. But then I remember not everyone has as good of a sense of humor as I do. ;)
I was painting once and a female work colleague came up to me and asked what I was doing.
I said I was playing tennis to which she got all mad and started to tell people I had a bad attitude.
I now never play tennis .
Double insulated too.
“...but that states should make the final decision- which is wrong I believe.”
States DO determine the definition of marriage. Texas has always recognized male/female marriage and that’s it. However, to make it plainer, a few years ago an amendment was made to our Texas Constitution that marriage is between a man and woman. Gay marriages are not recognized as legal in Texas.
There is high adrenaline emotions on these posts in these primary days leading up to the elections, it goes with the territory..
It happens..
Got to be leniant towards to those who make legitiment mistakes, use patience towards those who disagree who are on the same side... And use more grace to those who see themselves as offended.
Used to be that way for me, but gotten more mellow.
LOL. It was probably the accent that confused her.
For sure the arguments/debates as to human behavior and spiritual beliefs is a conundrum from time immemorial. A popular device mentally is to rationalize for our own/individual satisfaction.

Dark humor and sarcasm isn’t for everybody. LOL
Ever engage in a “discussion” on the religion forum? Not much grace to be found there at any time of the year(s). Shame too that all Christian conservatives have such a hard time extending grace to each other when we have so many enemies knocking at the door. But the protestants and catholics feel equally compelled to “explain” to each other why the other is wrong. And I’m sure I’ve opened a can-o-worms just mentioning it. I hope they ping you too when they show up to correct me. ;)
I know all about that, my younger brother was hooked on heroen, and crack.
He stole from my mother and family and he knew how to work the system.
I know from experience their lies, tricks, scams...
I can even tell with one glace of my eye that they are stoned.. Can’t fool me..
was squandering his inheritance on strong drink and loose women.
Trying to make light, but the rest he just threw away.
/Sin is sin - you love the person, regardless of what they’ve done. You don’t condone it, you don’t celebrate it, you don’t shout it from the rooftops. You point them to God, and let God and them deal with it - by praying, repenting, turning from the sin, and going on.
Another time in the last couple of days, liberal media tried to make him state whether or not he would attend a gay marriage. He said that had never come up in his family, but the states determine what marriage is in each state. He would not fall into their trap by answering a question which had not come up in his family.
He said at this present time, he would love his daughter if she was gay. That is all he said this time and correlates with his previous statement.
Just for what it’s worth, I recognized the sarcasm in your post right away. I thought it was pretty clear.
the leftist media never tells the stories of how parents had to shun their own children/brothers/sisters who elected to go with the sexual fetish deathstyle.
There is no obligation to support (financial or otherwise) a homosexual just because.
It's been here for a long time. FR has never doubted that the Times is a duplicitous, dishonest bunch of scheming wharf rats.
