Via Philip Klein, who says after watching this that if Hillary has merely evolved on gay marriage then Peter Parker merely changed slightly after being bit by that spider. I dont begrudge anyone a sincere reversal on SSM; I had one myself, like millions of people over the past 10 years. But shes laying it on awfully thick here. Its one thing to weigh the pros and cons of gay marriage and change your mind, its another thing to decide, hey, maybe this sacred bond on which all of civilization is based isnt so important after all.
Quick Hillary Clinton or Rick Santorum?
the fundamental bedrock principle that exists between a man and a woman, going back into the mists of history as one of the founding, foundational institutions of history and humanity and civilization, and that its primary, principal role during those millennia has been the raising and socializing of children for the society into which they are to become adults.
Its not every day you find a pol reversing themselves on a policy theyve previously defended by citing the mists of history. But whatever. We know from Obamas 2008 lies about gay marriage that the left wont punish her for this. They dont need to. Support for SSM is now so firmly a litmus test for Democratic leaders that she wouldnt dare cross them once in office, whatever her true feelings might be. There may be value in this clip, though, if it shames Hillary into staying away from the issue during the general election campaign. I think shes likely to do that anyway: The fact that she supported gay marriage so belatedly relative to other top Democrats, even endorsing a state-by-state approach instead of a Supreme Court ruling as recently as last year, means she cant be too aggressive in slamming the GOP nominee as anti-gay. Or maybe she can. Maybe Im giving America too much credit in thinking it would demand a shred of logical consistency on this subject. Its a sad hallmark of the SSM debate, after all, that recent converts to the cause feel no qualms about slamming the other side as hateful bigots for holding the same position those converts held themselves 15 minutes ago. Maybe Hillary Clinton, defender of foundational institutions of history and humanity and civilization, is exactly the right person to be a shrill fingerpointing demagogue about gay-marriage heresies in 2015. Sounds like Marco Rubios getting prepared, just in case.
Exit question: Any other sacred bedrock principles of human civilization, by her own accounting, that Hillary feels like revisiting? We should probably know upfront.
She says funny stuff when she’s drunk.
Boy no kidding. What’s amazing is that her crew hasn’t ghosted this from eyesight.
Any other sacred bedrock principles of human civilization, by her own accounting, that Hillary feels like revisiting?
when has she ever supported life liberty and the pursuit of happiness??
The VRWC doctored this clip! Ooogah-Booogah!
She will say anything, do anything, to be la presidente.
Like Obama, she has evolved on this issue. /S
Congenital liars have a hard time keeping track of their lies.
She was against it before she was for it.
Democratic politicians use principles as an affectation. Something held until they’ve corrupted an removed them from their base and then dropped. Wait another 10 years and they’ll be openly mocking Christians on the floor of Congress and many lifelong Democrats who pretended to be Christians will drop it.
We really should start a BINGO Democrat card....rack up points everytime they say what’s on one of the squares...like....”Tax Rich More” etc
Understandable.. She probably wasn’t a lesbian, back then.
Unfortunately, only the 'sin' part of the equation was promoted. And that one sided argument with people who don't believe in sin doesn't work, won't work and will never work.
Tell an atheist(or Christian lite), hey its a sin, hey you are a kook.
Tell an atheist(or Christian lite), hey it is the cornerstone of Western civilization, at the very least you will get a pause.
Too late.
The Hillab#tch is a Heteraphobe. She is afraid of non-homosexuals
